The Barely was added to my list of favorite places to visit when in Prescott. Great location next to the Hotel Vendome. Love sitting on the patio at the Barely enjoying the amazing cocktails, food and the beautiful scenery. Love that theme of food is surrounded by duck fat. Can’t go wrong with that. For appetizers we tried the meatballs and the mushrooms..yum. For mains my husband ordered the fried chicken sandwich and I got the duck burger, both are very delicious sandwiches. Oh, did I mention they make their own dip sauces which were absolutely amazing. I don’t even like ketchup but the ketchup they made was so good. Super friendly staff, very nice. Definitely a great spot to check out !

What a gem! As soon as we entered we were welcomed by Jim, who was very friendly and gave us a nice little tour of the restaurant before we were seated! Food was amazing, best Mac and cheese, and meatballs, and the artichoke grilled cheese was so good too. Our server Jesse was kind and helpful. Very family friendly too, highly recommend if you’re in the area! Great beers as well!!

The Barley Hound is attempting some great things — an inviting dog-friendly courtyard, good music, and a menu slanted toward duck-fat happiness. On our recent visit, there were a few service snags, and the menu seemed weighted too heavily with sirloin (e.g., both the duck burger and the pork burger are blended with beef), but overall it’s a great vibe here. Prices are a little higher than you might find elsewhere in town, especially for the wines, but the patio dining space elevates the whole experience and makes the Barley Hound well worth a visit. (The photos were after we were busy devouring the generous portions.)

Fantastic layout, super relaxing and quaint. The waiter was awesome, prompt and courteous. Let’s talk food, I had the spicy chicken sandwich and my wife had the brisket grilled cheese. We both had duck fat fries (some of the best fries I’ve ever had). I would highly recommend this place, will be back to try the burgers!! P.S. The ketchup shown here is house made with a little spice. Wow. I could’ve eaten this as it’s own meal, delicious!!

The Barley Hound is a great experience and atmosphere. The food is delicious as well. The brussle sprouts were good just a little bit tougher than I desire. The duck fat fries and duck burger is where its at . The duck burger will have your taste buds doing somersaults. It's a great pup friendly place. I would recommend the barley hound for a good time for sure.

I really love this place. I visited the Prescott area in the spring and came to Barley Hound. I came back to the area this fall and made sure to include a trip to this restaurant again. The patio is so lovely - they have heaters and offered blankets if it was chilly (which was so cool ). The patio is well lit with string lights and fire places and candles - it’s a great atmosphere and ambiance. Inside is really cozy and nice as well, although I’ve never sat in there because the patio is so nice! It’s on a quiet street - not a load of foot or vehicular traffic, so it’s a peaceful environment to just enjoy some good food outside. Every server we’ve had has been so nice and friendly. The food is phenomenal. I have gotten the garden romesco bowl both times I’ve been because it’s soooo good! (Ive tried to recreate it at home unsuccessfully!). My husband had the NY strip with polenta that was so fluffy and creamy and buttery. We also had the duck fat fries and they’re a must.

I added this to my list of places to try while in Prescott based off a TikTok and open table menu. Unfortunately the TikTok and Open Table reservation app was incorrect…they Do Not serve Brunch. So that was first disappointment, we were so looking forward to it. We decided ok since no brunch we will try something else instead. Then after we order they came back and said sorry that is not ready to be served yet. So I replied, it’s ok we are not in rush we can wait. She replied no it will be hours. Hmmm, ok it’s on your menu and your open but it’s not available to order. Ok so we just ordered the mac and cheese with bacon. Then decided we would go somewhere else. Mac and Cheese came out…big chunks of bacon looked yummy. It was not to my liking, you could taste the flour gritty taste. I like my Mac and Cheese creamy. The atmosphere is cute, old house turned into an eatery. They have outdoor seating. There is heaters out there and I did see the waitress bring blankets to the guest also that was a little chilly. They try to make it as homey as possible.

First of all, this place is absolutely charming inside and out. It’s very dog friendly, so we took our beloved pup Gunther with us and he enjoyed not only the scenery, but several other dogs that were there as well. We ordered the mushroom appetizer and the mac & cheese. And then we shared the pork belly pork ribs, grilled cheese sandwich. Everything was absolutely delicious. The prices were pretty reasonable and the service was great.!
