Loved the feel and decor of the restaurant. We visited on a Saturday and expected a wait but service was fast and friendly with a smile. I had the German potato soup for an appetizer and it was amazing. I ordered the Jägerschnitzel, it was crispy, thick, juicy and delicious. The German potato salad was a little too vinegary for me. I wish I had room for the strudel maybe next visit because I will be back. Overall we had an excellent dining experience.
We wanted to try some German food. This is a German-American restaurant. We were 5 people so tried 5 different items from their menu. We tried the rouladen, the reuben, grilled red fish, grilled pork chop and schmorbraten. We kind of liked them all. They gave a bun with the food. It was really good! German foods don’t have a lot of spice. So it tastes kind of bland. So be prepared for it. We also tried the beer buttered mushroom. It was good. I recommend going to this restaurant if you are in that area.
I got a "hunter" schnitzel that has red wine mushrooms gravy on it and it was perfect. Meat was thick unlike usual schnitzel but it was tender and juicy so I still loved it. It was "different" from schnitzel I had in the past but I'm not saying it was a bad thing, it was unique and I actually liked it thick as long as it was tender and juicy. It was cruncy on the outside and real tender on the meat. Smoked sausage was amazing as well. It was even better with spicy mustard and German beer. Every single side menu was amazing too. Buttered corn was sweet and rich, potato salad was not too sour and was perfectly cooked & seasoned. mashed potato was so good and I normally hate mashed potatos. I definitely recommend this place for anyone who's traveling or living in local areas
Tourist trap! Great atmosphere, great service, terrible schnitzel. The breading was soggy and not authentic. The meat was not tenderized and pink. I’ve had real schnitzel and with all the authentic places in town to get one, don’t waste your money here. Great beers on tap though.
Uh-mazing! I go to Fredericksburg once or twice a year for the past decade and somehow never stumbled into this great place until now! Order and eat all of it! The menu is pork heavy, so if you don’t do pork, the options are a little slim, but it still tastes all so good! Try the fried pickles!
Overall great atmosphere, great service, terrible schnitzel. I was hoping for something more authentic, this is not the place. The sausage was pretty good though
This is a must when visiting Fredericksburg. Well made traditional German food. The old world potato soup is fantastic. My wife and I come here every time we’re in town and two times for a two day trip this last weekend.
If you are looking for schnitzel this is definitely the place. The fried mushroom were really good as part of the appetizer and the sausage sampler was just as good. I did order the red fish on the menu and it did not disappoint. The service was excellent they were very attentive and accommodating.

Restaurant recently opened after several years closure. We tried it tonight and #german food was great! Alexander was our wait person, so friendly and exceptional service. It was a very pleasant surprise, much better than some of the other older tir
