We stopped in after visiting other locations in the area for lunch. The dishes ordered were; Ruben and fried apples, Turkey Pot Pie Soup and Mac and Cheese topped with Bar-B-Q. Everyone committed how delicious everything was. We also got some Apple Cinnamon Donuts and some Apple Fritters. The Donuts were Moist and Great Flavor. On the other hand the Apple Fritters were dry, dense and had little flavor. I would definitely give the Fritters a second chance.
I love this place. Their foods were amazing!! I can tell all things are home made. My husband got Swiss Mushroom Burger, and I got BBQ Pork Sandwich. Whatever kinds of cut style their fries are awesome. The bean was super tasty, it tasted a little bit sweet. Don’t forget to buy their donuts. It was sooooo good! It was not too sweet and nicely soft. Check out their gift shop too. They have unique products.
The Apple House is a favorite stop whenever we are in the area. They have great BBQ and the best Reuben that I have ever had! Definitely a fun place to stop by, and you can check out their selection of hot sauces and souvenirs too.
One of my favorites places to go when heading towards Shenandoah National Park. The restaurant has the best fleshy made apple donuts I’ve ever had but what can I say about breakfast items and the rest of the menu ? OMG ! … everything is delicious, all entrees I’ve had have always been large portions so you’ll never leave that place hungry You must try the pulled pork sandwich; if you’re a foodie get the JUMBO. Brisket grilled cheese is one of my favorite sandwiches as well. The Best part is the prices are very affordable. Store has a large number of souvenirs of all sorts as well as funny socks, several walls of many different hot sauces and much more.
Delicious food 😍 and the staff was excellent! ❤️ the grilled chicken ranch sandwich and the Hokie Philly cheese steak sub! The home fries and onion rings omg so good. Also a must buy is the Apple 🍎 donuts!
I was very excited to try the food at the Apple House but was met with disappointment after an hour (from waiting in line to order and receiving food) wait. If you come on the weekends, budget extra time for ordering and getting your food as they are slow. We got a Hokies steak and cheese with fries (extra $1.99), soup and grilled cheese (extra $3.99 for adding ham), and a side of onion rings ($5.99). The steak and cheese was dry with no flavor but the fries were hot and crispy. The butternut squash soup was the highlight and I definitely recommend. I do not recommend the grilled cheese as they only use one slice of cheese but the additional charge to add ham is worth it as they do add quite a bit. However, that does make the sandwich quite salty so thank god for the pickles. The onion rings, while fresh, were not worth it for the amount you get - we got about 7 rings. Make sure to pick up some fresh apple cider donuts!
First timer here. After hearing many glowing remarks about the Apple cider donuts at this establishment, I made the 1.5 hour drive out to Linden, VA. Walking in, it reminded me of your classic general store on steroids. There was a little bit of everything from signs with cute sayings to a variety of hard ciders from across the state. There are two areas where you can order food. Head to the right where it is less crowded and sit at the bar. I went with the staff’s suggestion and ordered the Grilled Cheese sandwich with Brie, bacon & apricot jam with a balsamic glaze that came with French fries. That bacon jam was so good that I ended up walking away with two jars. The apple donuts lived up to the glowing reviews and I could see why people make the drive for these treats.
One of the most interesting places I've ever dined in! There's so much to look at and browse while waiting for your food. We sat next to the fire place, which was so pleasant. Food was fantastic and we bought plenty of goodies to take home.
