This is a nice place. We had a work holiday get together. It was large enough for all of us. The food was good, bar food. My only issue was they seemed to be under staffed. Had to wait a while for drinks. Bartenders were working their butts off, but there should be more people involved with the food service part of it. Other than that, I would recommend.
A Unique Burger Experience at The Alcove in Greentree, Pennsylvania Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Alcove in Greentree, Pennsylvania, and my experience left me with a mix of delight and a slight longing for more. Despite visiting during an off-peak period, between 2 pm and 4 pm, I was treated to a unique opportunity that made my visit truly memorable. The ambiance of The Alcove is cozy and inviting, with warm lighting and tasteful decor that sets the stage for a comfortable dining experience. The staff, while minimal during the quiet hours, were attentive and friendly, adding a personal touch to the overall atmosphere. What truly stood out for me was the chance to recreate an old burger that had once been a hit on the menu. The Alcove not only accommodated my request but also allowed me to step into the shoes of a chef, making the dining experience interactive and engaging. The attention to detail and willingness to accommodate personalized requests certainly elevated my visit. While I didn't get the full spectrum of the restaurant's offerings due to the off-peak timing, the quality of the food I did experience was impressive. The burger I recreated was a nostalgic delight, showcasing the chef's commitment to preserving the essence of their culinary history. The menu, although I only scratched the surface, appeared diverse and appealing, with a range of options for various tastes. I look forward to returning during peak hours to fully explore the extensive offerings and savor the full Alcove experience. In summary, The Alcove in Greentree, Pennsylvania, offers a charming ambiance, friendly service, and a willingness to go the extra mile to make your dining experience special. My unique opportunity to recreate an old favorite added a personal touch that made this visit stand out. I recommend giving this hidden gem a try and suggest timing your visit during peak hours for the complete Alcove experience.
Staff was very friendly and the food was awesome. Ate there twice while staying at the Holiday Inn. First time I got the fish sandwich and chips and the sandwich was pretty big and tasted good as well as the chips. Second time I got the BBQ bacon burger and it tasted great. Hope to go back some day soon.
My parents and I stopped in after flying from Arizona & California, with a three hour drive ahead of us. We were looking for a quick bite to eat and The Alcove's kitchen was about to close, but they graciously made us a couple sandwiches. My parents both got the chicken panini and I got the pulled pork sandwich. It was delicious, fresh, and from scratch! The restaurant was very clean and the atmosphere was fun! I could tell they had high standards and truly delivered quality food and service.
First of all the food was absolutely amazing. The service is very slow, one person working behind the bar & taking tables. During my 2nd drink from the bar she used my same glass and touched my straw from the top after gathering dirty cups and taking card payments. We weren’t noticed for 10 mins after arriving.
Try their shrimp tacos! Lots of flavor and very filling. Their fries are so amazing and my friend loves their burgers. I was told they cook them to perfection! Convenient little place in a plaza next to a lot of offices. Great stop for a good priced lunch.
What’s for lunch? (Friday: January 12, 2021) 🍽 Chicken pesto Panini, french fries and a sprite! I also order a pulled chicken salad with chips (I didn’t take a picture of it though 🤷🏽♀️) This is one of my favorite lunch places. Great food, great people at a good price! This is my favorite chicken pesto panini sandwich. The pesto is creamy goodness. Their french fries are ridiculously good! The sandwich is very good & I don’t have any issues with the chicken. I hardly ever drink pop but every once in a blue moon I’ll have one. The pull chicken salad is very popular!!! I love it! 💕 I get chips to go with it since that’s how I had to to start & now it’s the only why that I like it! Their chips are like Burgatory’s but better. They are made fresh. You could also get it in sandwich form. Bon appétit 😋
Bar environment with great food! They definitely need some signage to seat yourself since many from the hotel come over. Also, would recommend permanent laminated menus at all tables to make it easier.

Dominic's met the hype. The owners sit to the left of the door as you walk in and help you find a seat. I can't imagine not being thrilled with your meal but if you were not, there they are! Go speak to them. :) The breakfast sandwich I got was enor

Went for lunch and it was my first time there. The French onion soup was great and so was the pot roast. The waitress was very attentive and quick. Never had to ask for anything including refills. She just knew! Will definitely be going back!
The Shady Grove is a shadyside staple! This restaurant is consistently delicious with a large menu to choose from. Their pizza is tasty. The shady burger is one of my favorites but it can be a little messy to eat. Their fries are crispy and their swe
It was Oktoberfest, so I naturally gorged on pork shank. It was pretty damn good! My wife had a salmon salad, and the dressing was a little bit too sweet, son loved the meatloaf and his GF liked the pasta. The kitchen was a little bit backed up, but
