Pretty interesting spot. Never had absinthe the proper way. They serve beer, wine, cocktail, and food as well so don't let the name fool you.
It is overpriced and it is a tourist trap, but there are a few locals as well.
There is a dart board as well. Use cautiously 😉
This place was a pleasant surprise at the end of a meal, actually. The first time amy of us had absinthe in a way absinthe was supposed to be experienced.
They were pretty bare for being just before ski season starts, but is slowly filled in the later the night moved on.
They got a nice selection of a few cocktails as well, for those not brave enough to try it straight... I was not brave enough to try it straight.
There is a strong licorice flavored note to absinthe. So, if that's not your jam, you may not enjoy the bar. Otherwise, very intimate little shindig.
Props to Grace for helping us through that whole night.
Stopped in to try absinthe the right way with a louche for the first time. Did not plan on staying long, but the bartender, Grace, was extremely friendly, & knowledgeable, & managed to keep me around for a couple drinks after that! Really enjoyed myself & would recommend stopping in.
Loved this place! What a find in little ol' Breck! Small and dark with great music and lovely atmosphere.
Combination of cocktails, beers and of course Absinthe!
Not sure if food was served but we didn't order any.
Location was great too, right in the middle of the town and near all the main restaurants and hotels/hostels etc.
This place is dope. Cool subterranean setting/bar area right off Maine St with an extensive selection of various absinthes from all over the world. The bartender was awesome, accommodating and knowledgeable. Highly recommend dropping in The Absinthe Bar if ever in Breckenridge.
Stopped in with a buddy last week. First time drinking absinthe, the bartender Grace was super knowledgeable and explained firmly but fairly that if I insisted on drinking until I hallucinate I’d likely just pass out from the alcohol.
This has gotta be one of the coolest spots in town! Ian - the bartender is fantastic. Really knows his stuff. Spent time explaining us about Absinths and how to drink it. Overall - a very chill place, great vibes, right in the middle of the town. Definitely must do when in Breckenridge!
We enjoyed our evening at Swiss Haven and the Absinthe bar. Hans ( or Hanz) was excellent! He sat with us, explained how to mix the absinthe and which to try how much water and sugar to use..
And even made sure we tried it in its natural form right out of the bottle. Not a fan of black licorice but once mixed it was drinkable. My husband and I shared one pour (about a shot and a half worth) and that was more than enough for the both of us! The cheese fondue was amazing we scrapped the pot clean! Thank you for your great service! We highly recommend!

Our son absolutely loved the arcade here! Itâs one of the best indoor places to take kids in Breckenridge. Plus thereâs an ice cream shop in the front!
Absolutely loved the mines tour with Michael, heâs so full of fun knowledge and delivers the info so well!
Another shot out to Cory the operations manager of the monster truck sleigh rides. He gave my family a fun and great experience going the ext
Loved the salsas and rose pork. Wish there was more avocado and tomato, but Iâve never had tlayudas before. Very tasty! Also had a breakfast burrito (no pic) and it was bomb.
Craved a flavorful, tasty and fresh meal after wandering the town. I am lucky to have found Mount Golian Grill. This restaurant is clean, nicely decorated and cozy. The food was phenomenal and the service was great. I can only highly recommend it.
