Gary, Pat and Zayne are amazing hosts. Their home is beautiful and has a wonderful charm. They are located within walking distance of downtown. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and nicely decorated. They go out of their way to make sure guests are well taken care of. Zayne, a beautiful, friendly Siberian Husky is the newest addition to the family. He is a sweet boy and welcomes each guest. My wife and I had a great time. We look forward to staying with them again.
We recently stayed at the Thames Street Guest house and as previous reviews state, I cannot stress how hospitable the owner Pat is! We stayed in the Blue Suite which has a king sized bed, couch and en-suite bath. The room was huge and so comfortable - felt like we were staying with relatives. The house itself is beautiful and is perfectly nestled in the more neighborhood-y part of thames which is great because it's still walking distance to anything but far enough away that it is quiet and relaxing. And a major plus - their husky Onyx is too cute. Would definitely recommend to anyone!
We stayed in the Rose Room and it was just lovely. Pat, Gary and Kelly are wonderful hosts. Onyx, the husky is the sweetest dog and a great host also! We could smell goodies baking in the kitchen in the morning for breakfast. What a treat! The house is beautiful and well situated within walking distance to shops, restaurants and the wharf! The beaches are very close, maybe 15 minutes by car. We enjoyed beaches #2 and #3. We recommend this lovely home to anyone visiting Newport.
We stayed in the rose suit for 2 nights, it was very nice and clean, comfortable for us as we had our toddler daughter traveling with us. It was in walking distance of the city center and the water front. ||||Pat, the owner was very nice and helped with plans and recommendations, as we had quite a lot of bags they were very nice and helped carry it up the stairs. ||||The bathroom was outside the room, private but not in it. ||||Breakfast was nice but could have had more variety. ||||They have a beautiful Siberian husky dog!
I enjoyed my stay at the Thames House in June 2014. It was slightly away from the main st where all the action is, but the service and lovely hosts (Pat and Gary) made up for everything. I felt like I was a guest in their home. They were extremely friendly, helpful: Pat suggested a bar just down the street for dinner which was great value and delicious, and Gary was always looking out for how he can make my stay a comfortable one. On departure he even gave me some extra bottles of water for my drive back to new york which was terribly sweet! The blue room is very spacious, homely and comfortable. Also great that there was parking available on site.
My husband & I stayed at the Thames Street Guest House this weekend. We can't say enough about how welcoming, friendly and helpful Gary & Patty were. We felt like welcomed guests in their beautiful home. They provided us with recommendations of restaurants and sites of maps and brochures of things to do in Newport and were so nice to talk to. We felt like we knew them forever. The location of the guest house is perfect..we walked everywhere! Highly recommend a trip to Newport and make sure you book Thames Guest House!
Charming home right in the heart of Newport's historic district. After a lot of research found that it is the best value in town. Went on a girls vacation and had 2 rooms, a bedroom with a king size bed and a sitting room with a queen size futon, couch and TV. The suite does have a full private bath located 2 steps from the sitting room. The guest house has off street parking - a must in Newport, especially in the summer. All the action is within walking distance with the exception of the Mansion Tours - they have their own parking lots. Pat our hostess was a delight with a special bonus - people friendly Onyx, the welcoming committee in the attached photo! Was very sad to leave.
Perfect place to stay in Newport. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by Wes who was welcoming and informative about the Lodge and surrounding area. The bed was comfortable and the room was charming. Breakfast was delicious. Coffee, teas, and a v
Nicely crafted bracelets, love the fit and the clasp they use. Very durable. And love the designs! They were helpful and held a specific color and size for me when the new shipment came in. Conveniently on the last day of my trip! I did overhear a gi
This bed and breakfast is an absolute must stay in Newport. It's adorable, clean, and cozy. Walking distance to the beach and the bars, but far enough that you can sleep soundly. Serena, the inn keeper is the sweetest person you'll ever meet. She tru
