I’ve been ordering Door Dash from here for a while and really like it. I ate in today with a friend and found the place charming. Nice country decor with plenty of space between tables to maneuver a wheelchair or corral kids. We got the lunch special, 1 meat & 2 sides, and were not disappointed. The sweet sauce on my rib sandwich was perfect. I chose the green beans and broccoli cheese rice. For my taste, there was a bit much pepper on the green beans, but the broccoli cheese rice was very good. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I do wish the lunch special included a drink, but it was all still very affordable.

Had a great experience here. We ordered online which was a breeze, food was ready in about 10 minutes with text message updates on telling how far along our order was ready which was nice. I ordered the brisket plate with greens beans and okra and loved it. The green beans had great seasoning on them, the okra was not over cooked like a lot of places and tasted great, and I got a pretty sizeable amount of brisket which had a great consistency of lean and fatty, and tastes great. Also loved the BBQ sauce as it’s a good mix of thick and runny and has a nice sweet tangy taste. We topped the meal off with the banana pudding which was excellent. We will definitely be coming back!

Delicious food and super nice people. I have eaten here twice, both times were takeout. I had the BBQ potato (with chopped beef), coleslaw and a roll. There are three sauces, regular, sweet and spicy. I had the sweet and it is very good. The restaurant was very clean and had an inviting atmosphere. Definitely a new favorite place to eat.

MILITARY/FIRST RESPONDER DISCOUNT Got the 3 meat combo (sliced brisket, pork loin and pulled pork) with 2 sides (HOMEMADE macaroni and pinto beans)! Despite being slightly dry the brisket and loin was good and the pulled pork was great! The mac was also really good! ROLLS WERE AWESOME! LOL Peach cobbler was pretty decent. Decor is cool...definitely won't mind trying again in the future.

Ribs are not fall off the bone like newer bbq joints but that's okay don't mind my ribs having some bite to them. Reminds me of old school bbq, from a small town. Ribs were good, sausage good, potato salad old school mustard style but good. Broccoli cheese seemed a lil over cooked but tasted good. Pricing was good. Would definitely eat again. Only thing I wish they had was jalapeno sausage but reading other reviews they do have it but it's off menu and you have to know to ask for it.

We have only been here to take out but the atmosphere of the seating area seems low key, intimate in a way because of the soft lighting. The meats are always spot on the sides are well done. I feel the pricing is also a good value compared to other nearby (within 5-10 mile radius). Texas Star has become our "go to" BBQ place over any of the others. 1.quality and flavor 2.customer service and 3.serving size for value are the top three reasons to recommend this place!

We ate here for the first time it was good! There could have been a little more smoke but I use a lot of smoke when I smoke at home. The first couple of bites were a little dry but that was probably because I got the end piece’s which cooks quicker than the rest. The more I ate the moister they got. The beans were delicious and seasoned well then when you add a pickled jalapeño yummy. The potato salad was very good! The barbecue sauce was delicious they have three kinds Sweet, my favorite, spicy and original.Normally I would tell you what Darrell ate but we had the exact same thing. He said no complaints he wanted a leftover rib sandwich for supper since this was lunch so we saved some to take home. The staff was very nice and when I tried to take my tray to them the sweet little girl hurried to take it from me. It is very clean other than a few flies which cannot be helped with people coming in and out it was great! We will be back I can promise you that. Oh as far as a previous review saying brisket was dry I saw him slicing brisket and the juices were running out so not dry at all. I did not have the brisket just watched him slicing.

These guys have been open only a short time. Stopped in on the recommendation from a neighborhood website. Not disappointed! The greeting was friendly, service was excellent ( once again ,I got there at a quiet time). The food was great. I recommend the broccoli and cheese side....yum! Had the brisket with the regular sauce.. very good. Next time I'll try the spicy sauce. Yes, there will be a couple of next times at least.
