I was getting cravings last night for their key lime pie. It's one of the best, if not the best, that I've had. We live local and happened upon this place because we were on our way to a comedy show. I was happy we did because the food was great. We had the fish sandwich, (haddock) crab cakes, and steak bites. The food was exceptionally fresh and good. You know when you take a good piece of fish and cook it correctly. The crab cakes, with more crab than breading and also cooked the way it should be, are not overdone. The people were nice we didn't wait long and the only reason I give it 4 stars is it's more of a pub than a restaurant. Other than that, it's 5 stars. It is on my list of places to go back to, and I think i have to go back because the key lime pie is calling me. I just don't get why anyone would give this place any one star. The food alone did not deserve it.
I have visited The Terrace Tavern occasionally for decades, but this was my first visit to the outdoor Backyard Bar. Service was a bit spotty and could have been a bit more attentive, but what was lacking in attentiveness was definitely made-up for in seemingly genuine friendliness. A good time was had imbibing adult beverages, enjoying tasty and very reasonably priced happy food and listening to live music. It was an enjoyable visit.
These are the best steamed clams I’ve ever had. So garlicky and delicious. The peel and eat shrimp was great too
Great happy hour, $1 wings, $3 domestic beers. The bar tenders were great! Very friendly, punctual and attentive. The wings were ok...id recommend requesting they be fried hard. The bathrooms were fairly small considering the size of the place. I'd think on a busy weekend night...there would be lines to use the head. The bar is fairly standard. No jukebox or darts, but its still nice. The new outdoor dining area is very nice! Its almost like a separate place. Well definitely go back. They sell t shirts too. I bought the one that actually says Long Beach Island NJ on it. The newest design doesnt include that detail.
Very good place. Steamed clams were yummy. Burger was average. Fried calamari was average. Atmosphere was fun. Menu options good. Surprisingly good selection of wines by the glass and bottle. I would definitely stop by again. A bit more pricey than I expected having eaten out of a cardboard box. Kid friendly in the indoor section.
Great service and love the live out door music. Food was excellent! Highly recommend
Food is typical bar food but at 5 star prices. Expect to pay $20 for 3-4 scallops depending on the size of the scallop. The street corn was awful. The kernels were deflated in a way that shows it wasn't freshly prepared and was given time to dehydrate a bit. The flavoring on it wasn't good at all. To top it off, it was presented in a very pretentious manner with a large handful of greens garnishing it that had to be picked off. Very overpriced for the poor experience. Service was good. Both the host and waitress were great. The atmosphere was about what you'd expect from a crowded local bar, which is disappointing considering the identity crisis of the place. It fancies itself as a "Restaurant and Bar" according to the website, but rest assured that it is simply a bar. Seating is tight, it is very crowded, and even if you are in the back room away from the bar, they will begin blasting music louder than a concert in the middle of the meal. Honestly not sure how people think the Terrible Tavern is any good. Clearly the patrons must be drunk to the point where even bar food tastes like gourmet.
Overall a good experience. We were outside for dinner. Completely shaded and felt cool especially with the heat we were having. Waitress was very attentive to our needs. Very happy they had the Downeast cider, one of my favorites. Food was good but we felt it was overpriced. Over 300 for party of 8 with two kids ordering kid meals and one two people splitting a meal.

Surprised this came up as a business to review, but beachfront in the off-season is just lovely and peaceful. Great for the dog's early morning walk as the sun comes up.
Great place for an Italian meal on Long Beach Island. The food came out so incredibly fresh that it took a couple minutes before I could even eat it. I highly recommend the penne alla vodka and the fried mozzarella. Both were incredible. This has bee
La Bamba is an absolute gem that has brought the vibrant flavors of Mexico to the shores of Long Beach Island. From the moment I walked in, I was transported by the lively and inviting atmosphere. The staff were not only friendly but also incredibly
