I was warmly greeted by Francis. He explained the menu after I mentioned it was my first visit. The store was clean and beautiful. The Japanese theme is apparent in the decor, food offerings, and even music ! I enjoyed this experience and the food was prepared fresh to order. I recommend giving Tenya a try. They carry many snacks and beverages from Japan as well.

Service: The service was great. They were so nice! They made us feel welcomed. Food: The food was fresh and delicious. The portions were good. I was surprised by the sandwich because it was huge! Here's my recommendations: 1. Braised Pork Chashu bowl. 2. The Sando Sandwich.

Cute little place with delicious options of Japanese dishes and some snacks/ groceries shop. We jad the gioza, shrimp, the braise pork bowl.amd the chicken bowl. Everything was made to perfection and well arranged. Even the white rice was yummi. The atmosphere feels clean, bright, and friendly even if you can't say from outside. The gentleman taking our order was very patient and recommended several optioms, he even suggested plates combinations for a better experience. We will always come back for a quick or long dinner. I see you can spend even $15 on a great quality meal.

Tenya is a mighty fine establishment. Today was my second time coming here and they are just the sweetest people. Not only are they kind, but the food is amazing! I have only had the sobu noodles with grilled chicken but i highly recommend it because it is very fresh and savory at the same time. They also offer appetizers as well as mains, so lots of diversity. Smells nice inside and great ambiance. I think their prices are good especially for the quality of the food. Great experience ❤️

First off I’ve got to say, this place is awesome. When I walk in I was automatically greeted by a sweet lady upfront while not being able to stay focused from all the goods and treats surrounding the front. I ordered a chicken sandwich with the shrimp bowl and had to go. Short time and food was amazing. 10 out of 10 will come back for lunch at least once a week if you’re looking to support a friendly and awesome lunch spot, go here.

Tenya Japanese Eatery, located in N. Decatur, offers a boutique style dining experience. The staff members here are incredibly hospitable and kind. From the moment I walked in, I received a warm welcome and helpful information about the menu. To begin my meal, I ordered a delightful combination of miso soup, Tenya fries & furikake. The fries were prepared fresh to order and came with a special mayonnaise sauce imported directly from Japan. For my main course, I selected the Gingeryaki rice chicken bowl, which featured tender chicken paired with flavorful rice, Japanese's slaw, tenya sauce and pickles. It was a delicious and satisfying choice.

The cashier was very friendly and helpful with menu suggestions! I came on a Tuesday at midday so the restaurant wasn’t busy & my order came out fast. I dined in; the restaurant was very clean and decorated nicely. The fried tofu was super crispy & paired well with the gingeryaki sauce! The fries??? Amazing. Looking forward to returning.
