The young lady that works here is very sweet and helpful. Nice vending area. I wish I had more time to do a lot of the stuff, but I’ve got to be in Indy tonight. I wanted to go to Lookout Mountain, but there’s some kind of Iron Man cycling thing going on, and I can’t get this big @$$ truck there. Oh well, there’s always next time
This welcome center has a lot of travel guides and booklets which is nice. The restrooms could definitely use a remolding and they are small. Neatest thing is it's on an island in the middle of the river. Was disappointed to see that it says no overnight parking in the car area, but I had to take my chances as I had no where else to stay the night and I had planned to leave Chattanooga and stay here. Luckily nobody did interrupt me and I pulled out in the morning.
Such a beautiful rest area to walk around and relax for a few minutes.
Lovely place to recharge our energy and stretch our legs. They even tell you that 8 laps = a mile. Very friendly staff, lots of literature to pick up. Clean restrooms.
A rest area that lives up to the title!! Quiet, with plenty of space to get out and stretch your legs or take a few moments to sit and eat a meal. Visitors center is very nice. The attendant, Kelly, was in a single word :: WONDERFUL:: Kelly grew up in the area and it shows how much he loves it! He knows every secret spot, lists of ‘if you like that, then you’ll love this’ ideas, complete with travel guides and maps, custom marked for your travels and stops. Bottom line: Informative. Friendly. Relaxing and, dare I say, peaceful.
A great place to stop, it’s pretty busy so I don’t feel like it is sketchy, this is a car and rv stop only so no trucks lots of picnic tables and a great veiw and a little walking path. Would stop here again! Thanks TDOT.
I really like stopping at rest stops anywhere. Tennessee is no exception. People are generally engaging and happy to be traveling by car, campers, or trucks. I had conversations with quite a few, and everyone was filled with Thanksgiving Cher.

We were stuck in Tennessee during the winter storm in January. The trip was a rough one, but this place was life giving. Home cooked meal & big portions. Service was friendly & quick. It was everything we needed to face the road ahead of us.
Good park for swings. Has monkey bars for smaller kids and things to climb for small kids. A picnic table. Basketball court and baseball field. No slides.
