TechCollective - Featured Reviews (19)
We had a great experience. We knew Charlie from his work before the collective opened, and he has been excellent - he is knowledgeable, efficient, and kind. This was our first experience with the collective, and it was a good one. I was able to bring the machine in, and they were able to take it the same day. Fortunately it was a minor problem from malware, and they were able to fix it completely the same day.
We'll definitely go back when we need more help.
There's no need to look elsewhere. These guys are amazing. The staff is friendly, explains everything in understandable detail, and they're fast and responsive. They'll check out your machine and tell you what's wrong and advise accordingly.... before you spend a single dollar.
As far as pricing goes, the collective fixed my laptop for less than half what Microcenter was going to charge!
I went to the Boston TechCollective in Somerville on the recommendation of a friend on Google+ when I was having major overheating issues on my 3 year old Asus laptop.
They ran diagnostics and gave me a flat price ($100) based on the presumption the machine's Thermal Paste/Grease was the culprit and did a complete cleaning of the system and replacement of the Thermal Paste/Grease with a quick 2 day turn around on the work.
They kept to their word on keeping me informed, in case it turned out to be part failure or other problem beyond the initial diagnosis and charged me exactly what the stated flat price would be. Well worth it, as it saved the machine from having to be replaced.
Excellent work, fast turn around, and professional behavior at every step. I highly recommend them.
My MacBook Pro's hard drive crashed and the guys at Boston TechCollective were able to successfully take an image of all of my stuff on old hard drive and install a new solid state hard drive for $300. So I didn't lose anything and now my computer is as good as new. It felt so much better than going to an Apple store for help. I highly recommend them!
Got my laptop screen replaced here. Fast and efficient service. Matt is great at keeping you updated every step of the way (parts, pricing, timeline, etc.). I will definitely come here again with any other computer issues.
In terms of service, my experience at Boston TechCollective was at the highest standard of quality, timeliness and convenience.
Although my computer did not have any earth shattering problems, the desktop lagged in booting up my internet. For a week, it took 5 minutes for my Dell to connect to internet hampering my user experience. In the same amount of time it took my sad computer to load a web browser, Matt Gabrenya of the Boston TechCollective walked me through an uninstall of my AVG problems, remedying my qualms and restoring my laptop sanity. It took 5 minutes! How many times has Dell or any other computer company been able to solve your computer problems in this amount of time?
The results speak for themselves. Visit Boston TechCollective and leave with a happy computer and happy heart.
Brian is a miracle worker!!!
I took my Lenovo laptop here, despite it still being under warranty, because Lenovo wanted me to send them my laptop for up to three weeks...and within the day, Brian had contacted Lenovo to do an authorized warranty repair himself! He made the process simple and easy after I had spent weeks talking to Lenovo about the issue and trying to find local authorized repair people.
Amazing service, friendly people and quick turnaround time!
Laptop died on vacation. When I got back, I managed to get it started but it wouldn't accept updates from Microsoft so I took it to Boston Tech Collective. It took a week to fix (hence only 4 stars not 5). In the end, they copied everything off to disk, reinstalled Windows 10 from scratch, and copied my files back. That solved the problem.
This tour was super fun and I learned a lot, it wouldnât have been so great without our amazing tour guide Natalie! She was very knowledgeable about all the history and kept everyone engaged with some very entertaining stories and fun facts about H
this skatepark is so spacious and so much fun. thereâs so many different ramps and areas to skate. the skaters are usually pretty friendly and give you space to do your thing. the scenery is so beautiful, especially when the sun starts to go down.
