Been wanting to try this place for a few years. Finally was over this way and wanted to get a bite to eat and they were open. Unfortunately they were out of the 3 cheese fries which I was looking forward to. So I got a pulled chicken sandwich and some ribs. The pulled chicken sandwich was OK. I liked it with the white sauce a little better than the traditional bbq sauce. The ribs were really good overall. Good smokey bbq flavor and just tender enough where they came off the bone very easily. Would like to try the grits and wings next time.
Local BBQ chain that reminds me of other joints from different locals. At least this one isn't the standing room only, better get there before X time otherwise you're SOL and leaving hungry. If you've ever been to a Sonny's they're somewhat similar, but smaller and feared more for togo although they do have dine in. I wonder if this is a Dreamland situation where anything not from the original location is subpar because I hear others talk about them. Regardless the sausage is really good as is the chicken. I haven't had the pork or ribs yet, I'm working myself up to that I guess. Can't discern a regional style although they have Alabama white sauce so there is that. Their BBQ sauce isn't overly sweet and has a decent spice. The chicken is well seasoned and juicy, but mildly smokey IMO. Pulled chicken always tends to be a little dry no matter where you get it, but not a detriment here. I've only had the mac and the grits, which are also both rich creamy and cheesy. It's a hot bar setup so depending, things may not be the freshest. They have beer and other cold things in a cooler to the side, plus merch.
Out of town guests were craving BBQ. They enjoyed the pulled pork and some sausages. Sides were baked beans and potato salad. We even bought buns from them. Portions were large. Pork was juicy and flavorful. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
Tay’s has phenomenal food by far, but I was pissed today because I put an order in a week ago for a 60 piece chicken wings and was told I could pick them up on 12/23/23 @ 7pm, mind u when I called the order in I was told they close at 9pm. Sent my daughter to pick up the chicken, she makes it there at 6 something an the door is locked, lights are off.So my husband call Tay’s, a young black guy answers the phone and said they close at 7pm, it was still 6 something, so my husband said ,I am suppose to pick up a 60 piece chicken at 7 is it ready, guy says yes, my daughter seen the workers leaving after this guy said yes my order was ready. This is bad business, especially when this order was placed a week ago and whom ever took the order said they closed at 9pm on the day I was coming to get the chicken, which is why I chose 7pm for the pick up time. I surely hope management addresses this because this had me beyond pissed because this chicken was for an event. I plan to speak with a manager when they open back up after the holidays for sure.
Great food! Pineapple sausage is amazing, brisket falls off the bone, chicken is flavorful as well. Only complaint is that I didn’t try the potato salad the first time I went, Absolutely fantastic!
Aweful. Maybe I'm biased because I'm from Texas? The brisket tasted as if it came off a steam table barely any smoke. The potato salad was mostly mush. Husband said ribs were ok but they did not remove the membrane. The Mac and cheese was dry, tasted a little better than boxed. Won't do this again.
Blonde young man making food seemed deathly ill and coughed right over the potato salad he was making for a customer. Other than that he truly looked sick with a cold or flu like virus, was horribly congested, and had no regard for spreading whatever he has. Also hair net that young man he literally had hair all over his black shirt that said tuna dip. I had never seen this in Tay’s before today and I’ve been going here for sometime and live in the area.
Aaahhmaazing ribs I have had rib at lots of places but this is by far one of the best hole in the wall !
The was hot, fresh, straight off the grill, well seasoned. ð I had the leg quarter, 2 ribs a roll, potato salad, coleslaw. The sides weren't that good, but the meats were.
The service is great, the people are friendly, polite, they said when you l
Great place for a breeze off the water. We saw someone fishing and he caught a few fish while we were there. Iâm assuming itâs OK to fish there. It has a covered area at the end with benches to sit. Definitely worth the walk out to the end.
What a âlittle gem!â (Southern gardeners will get the reference). Lovely room in an historic house with modern comfort. We came for a performance (Alabama Troubadours) at the Grand Magnolia Ballroom and booked a room so we wouldnât have to dri
We got a custom red velvet cake for my daughterâs 1st birthday and the cake was a big hit everyone enjoyed it I think it was a good price for how big and thick it was highly recommend getting cakes from hereâ¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸
Hidden gem. This museum/house is very interesting. Gives insight to local history and living/building of locals. House dates to 1775. The docent was very informative and enthusiastic. We spent 2 hours exploring and learning. Highly recommended
Wow great prices and delicious breakfast foods. The owners are very friendly and offers a variety of choices. You have to try their maple glazed doughnut with bacon crumb ð¤¯ð!!
I also loved the freshly made Kolaches with some salsa to go with. I
What a nice place to unwind. They have really worked to enhance this area from what I remember as a kid, it's beautiful. A great place to fish, walk or just relax in your car. Take your lunch and just hang out or explore. You'll really enjoy it.
Man, everyone from the coast knows bozos and they did good with upholding their name. Ordered the love boat for two and it was plenty!! Just a lot more shrimp than I expected too lol seafood tasted fresh, seasoning was great, and our server was so pe
I don't like pickles... and yet they make a pizza topped only with cheese and pickle chips that's just fantastic. Wonderful staff and delicious food. Atmosphere is nothing special, but neither is it off-putting. 10/10 would recommend.
My sister and I have to come here at least once a week. The food is always exactly perfect and the waitresses are so great. You can tell there is care put into the food and in the serving.
