Taste on Main was awesome! We are Marylanders originally and did not realize this was a seafood restaurant as we typically won’t eat seafood in Texas (sorry if you’re offended). However, we went to Taste and got to try a bunch of food with friends and it was great. We did try bites of the tuna tostadas and the fish dinner dish - both were good! The best things for me were the drinks 100%. I had a similar to a cosmo martini, I actually had 2 and we tried the frozen coffee for dessert and wow- probably the best part of the meal! I tried the bolognese which was really good, flavorful. I had a bit of issue with the texture of the noodle shape (totally my fault and issue) but the dish was good! The seasonal side was this cauliflower with pomegranate seeds, which was fantastic. Another favorite of the evening. The fried steak was good but a bit overwhelming/ heavy. To be expected when you order the dish but I wouldn’t order it again. If you like Texas seafood and phenomenal cocktails, HIGHLY recommend Taste on Main. I would go back, just would order the chicken dish, an actual steak or the burger looked great! I honestly could go and just drink, all cocktails were that great!
Overall it was nice. I know they only been open for a little while but they still need to improve their over all menu and image they want to promote. For charging the price of their items the service needs to reflect this by dressing a little more like a high end restaurant. Time is needed with the staff for proper training in knowledge of beverage. Such as the difference between a bourbon and a single malt. My server didn't understand this so a quick education on my part ensued. The food was good but not great at the price. If having a main entree of Lobster Mac and Cheese identified having four ounces of lobster it should be more than four bites. The Ceviche had a bit of strong fish order, so gave the notion of not being fresh. The desert which a Creme burlee and the Chocolate Rum cake were excellent and worth the price! The service by the staff was excellent in regards to being attentive and taking care of our needs. The atmosphere of the establishment is excellent. Overall I will try them two more times to see how they improve.
What a great little restaurant. The offering has a nice sophistication to it. I started with a sampling of their French Onion Soup and they nailed it. Second was the shrimp and crab dip. In reality this was a spinach dip with a sampling of shrimp and crab. So I did like it, but the title was misleading. My entre was a 6oz lobster roll. Very tasty. It's definitely not the best I've ever have. I save that title for the RL in Chicago. But it was good and worth trying.
Molly's customer service was great! Her positive energy is infectious. She helped us celebrate my birthday with fun, attention to detail, and great food recommendations. The food is very tasty.

This local restaurant knows how to take care of customers! We are fans of Hays City and this is so upscale! 6oz filet cooked to perfection,drinks are amazing and wait staff is awesome 💯! Go Local
The food is delicious and well seasoned. Here’s what we ordered: Taste burger Ceviche Shrimp and crab dip Crab guacamole Mexican firing squad Chicken fried steak The only thing I wish were different is the serving of potato chips with the ceviche. The chips themselves weren’t crunchy throughout which made the texture experience off putting at times. Great service from Marissa and Savannah and major shoutout to Chef Kendrick for the hospitality.
We sat outside in the treehouse area for a bachelorette party. It was so pretty, especially when it got dark and the lights were on. Beautifully set up. The staff was great making sure we were taken care of. Turned the misters off since they kept spraying us, but they did have fans on which was so nice for this Texas heat. We all had different plates and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Amazing flavor. Our favorites were the fried Brussel sprouts. TO DIE FOR. The pork belly tostadas were phenomenal. A few had two different flavor mocktails, and they both were lacking on the “flavor” they said it seemed more like sparkling water with food coloring. The staff was great and got them replacement drinks for the issue. Pricing is on the higher end, but the atmosphere and experience help make it all worth it. Date night. Girls night. Celebration. Splurge. All occasions would have a great memory being held here.
On a Sunday, we arrived early for lunch, which starts at 11am. We were able to place our lunch order 10 minutes before and they delivered it to curbside very shortly after 11am. We got exactly what we wanted.

The best farmer's market is under the shaded pavilion (basketball court) every Sunday 10am-2pm! It is so enjoyable to be under the cover and actually get to sit and enjoy some snacks instead of roasting in some parking lot and running for your life
