Taste of Trini - Caribbean restaurant in New Windsor - 357 Old Forge Hill Rd Suite 500, USA

You can smell the herbs and spices of Trinidad soon as you walk through the door. Very nice people who greet you soon as you come in. Food was fresh and hot. Curry chicken Roti was excellent. Buss up was nice and fluffy. Prices are a little bit on the high side but that’s expected because of the current economic situation right now. The lady told me more food selections are available on the weekends. Can’t wait to go back!

I’ve been dying to try Taste of Trini since they opened and I finally had a chance today. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. A friend told me I had to try the bussup shut so I got that with curry chicken and potatoes. I also got a double with all the traditional sauces… let me tell y’all something, this food was sooooo incredibly delicious. I was so impressed. The food was fresh and full of flavor. I also love to support family owned businesses especially my fellow Caribbeans. I will definitely be back and I can’t wait to try more of the menu!

😋💃 I rarely dance while I'm eating, but the food from this place had me celebrating each and every bite. Words cannot describe the party going on in my mouth right now! Dal pouri roti stuffed with plant-based goodies like chickpea chana, spinach, taters, pumpkin, with an optional dash of spicy sauce 🔥✨ (snapped a photo before I devoured it all)

This place we stumbled upon on a whim. Didn't expect to have such excellent service. We went out for a day shopping at Woodbury and found out that this restaurant is 20 minutes away. After biting the bullet it was the best thing to do. The food was not only hot and tasty, the service was top notch. Upon entering the staff was very friendly as well as the owner took time out of her busy day to come and chat with us. I will be visiting here again soon. Thank you for such excellent service Joanna. You are doing an amazing job.

So happy that we finally have a true Roti shop in Orange County, where we can share our culture with our neighbors. Not only is the food amazing but the owner and her family are so welcoming and treat you like their own every time you walk in the door. So proud to be a Trini living in Orange County. We have been going to Taste of Trini since the day they opened. The staff is absolutely amazing, they are friendly and greet every person as they come in. As for the food omg it is delicious…..the doubles are the best!!!! I am there at least once a week if not more!!!!

I highly reccomend a Taste of Trini. This restaurant is the NEEDLE and New York is the HAYSTACK. The food is absolutely divine, the service is exceptional and the restaurant is impeccably clean. Joanna and her son are wonderful. It was definitely worth the 2hr. round trip drive.

I ordered a meal of curry goat and this was what I got, no gravy food had no taste and on top of this I spoke to the owner and she was very rude and she was defensive and said “ my food is not like that” as the way I’ve described and hung up the phone. Please understand that tasting something now just that “taste.” So of course I did not consume it. Also additional pictures show the goat was not cooked which is why it is watery and not of a “gravy” consistency. Did you know I am a chef as well? Be careful how you speak to customers as this could have been resolved without me leaving a true review for others to see. I wish you the best in improving your food and how you speak to your customers thanks.
