I've never been to India, but I imagine this restaurant gives you a great idea of what it's like. Conveniently located on 3rd Street, I knew it had to be at least somewhat good because the competition on this street is tough. Most of the Indian places I've visited are closer to Portland. This one being so far out, I had to see what this one is all about. It has many of the signature dishes you'll find at most places: Tikka Masala (of course), butter chicken, etc. They also have traditional Indian favorites like lamb. But don't be fooled; this isn't "americanized" Tikka Masala or toned-down foods for the masses. This is very flavorful, spicy stuff. Let's talk about the ingredients. Top-notch for everything. None of this food was reheated from the freezer. Nowhere close. You may laugh, but many Indian restaurants do this. While Naan bread might be a silly thing to point out, I can definitely tell when it's pre-packaged or mass-produced Naan. This sort of thing matters to me, and the naan here was certainly made here, and it is fresh and awesome. They put "twists" on it with garlic and cheese, and we ordered these variations. They did not disappoint. As for the ingredients for the main dishes, they are of the highest quality. There's no doubt they use the freshest and best chicken and lamb, and the sauces are magnificent. If you like "spicy," they get it just right. Hot with a great kick, but not overpowering the flavor. Every dish we had was full of great taste, hot, and fresh. As for service, it's excellent. We arrived when the restaurant was full; however, they gave us an accurate wait time. Once seated, we were treated amazingly, with attentive staff. They had IT issues with the credit card processing (not their fault) but assured us they'd do whatever they could to fix things. In spite of the obvious stress of this situation, everyone was friendly and nice. It seems to be a family-run operation. The decor and ambiance is something I personally don't care much about. However, this place is clean, the lighting is nice, and it feels and smells like a place you want to be. There are plenty of drink options available. Though I rarely order alcohol, they had many options available. The price was what I would expect for this type of restaurant. Not super cheap, not super expensive. I felt it was a great price for what we got. Who would like this? It's a nice enough place to "dress up" and go out for a nice dinner. However, I don't think anyone here would care if you just walked in with sweatpants looking for some good Indian food. If you want true Indian food and not watered-down fare to appeal to Americans, come here. It's full of flavor and spices. Beware that when they say "hot" for the spice, they mean it. Overall, I'm very impressed with this establishment and will return.

I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to try new food all around Oregon, but I am most grateful now to have Taste of India in town. The experience at this establishment has been nothing short of delightful, with each dish proving to be a tasty testament to the authentic flavors of Indian cuisine.

This restaurant has great flavors and atmosphere. In my opinion, the only downside is that the mild options are still too spicy. I love Indian food so will definitely be back to try other dishes.

We had both goat and lamb dishes, excellent flavors. The lamb was a bit more mild that the goat. This is a definite must return to try other dishes. If you are concerned with how spicy the dishes might be order a side of mango chutney, it will mellow even the most spicy dishes. Many dishes come with a yogurt side that mellows spices, the mango is just an extra to smooth out flavors for those that are not use to diverse spices. GREAT PLACE!

Checking out the fabulous new Indian restaurant in McMinville where Community Plate used to be. Sad CP is gone but this food was great. Might be the best Indian food I’ve had in Oregon (being a Brit). We got Popadums, Chicken pakora, Lamb tikka massala, Palak paneer, Garlic naan and a wonderful bottle of Indian Cabernet shiraz. All super reasonable. Great staff too. For a Wednesday night this place was hopping! Ps. Don’t order spicy if you don’t like hot buffalo sauce (or even extra hot) - it has a great kick - but they have three spice levels.

Looking for a classy place to take someone special in your life? There is fine dining in a sophisticated setting in downtown McMinnville in many locations but this place deserves a special mention! Delicious Indian cuisine, which is spiced authentic as it gets, served in a breathtaking setting that is sure to woo even the coldest heart (if that doesn’t heat them up the spices definitely will)! Just a word to the wise, as with any incredible dining experience the place is always packed so throw some cash around and or beg for a reservation to hedge your bets! Wait times are usually minimal but nobody wants to sit around smelling heavenly aromas listening to their gut growl, much to the horror of their hangry date! You’ll get that look you know! “Did you skip lunch?” “OMG is that what a tapeworm sounds like?” Sorry but no food pictures. Too awestruck to keep my composure at the dinner table! We ate with our hands because we knew if anyone went for utensils the food would be gone by the time their hands left the food! Just a tip, milk works for easing the pain of getting curry sauce in your eye (don’t eat with your hands and wipe your eyes)!

Only street parking available Busy night so had to ask for a few items like napkins and utensils ....... friendly and efficient staff. Food service was timely and delicious. Ordered plain and garlic naan, roti, samoas, coconut curry, and quite a wide variety of other meals ....... everything was delicious and fresh tasting! Good size menu.

This is the second time we've eaten at Taste of India. It's been amazing every time. I highly recommend getting a dish of Mango Chutney to go with any curry dish. We had mixed vegetable Pakora, cheese naan, Vindaloo and coconut curry. We had Kulfi for dessert, which wasn't very sweet, but my wife loved it.

We enjoyed everything about our visit! We specifically chose this winery for a countryside setting rather than a downtown tasting room. We enjoyed the scenic drive to the winery, the lovely setting with the surrounding grape vines to the tasting room
