Taqueria Tsunami - Taco restaurant in Athens - 320 E Clayton St, USA

Had dinner here to celebrate a friend and the Mexican/asian fusion was defiantly an interesting concept. Ordered a dragon fruit mojito and didn’t get much of a mint flavor. I was also a bit disappointed with the rich bowl. The portion was okay, but the flavor and presentation was a bit off. I did enjoy the dessert egg roll. We also had a great server that was attentive and the atmosphere was nice.

Had a great experience here. Was there around 5PM, the 3 of us got right in. The staff was very friendly, professional, and speedy. They have numerous tvs throughout on different sports stations, so you have something to watch as well.

The food is very good. I gave the food a 4 star because I ordered a tempura shrimp taco, and it only had 2 pieces of shrimp. The 2 pieces I had were very good, just not enough for serving size and for the money. The short rib nachos on wonton, superb! It's my daughter's favorite and never disappoints. The service was great; fast and efficient. Will definitely return.

The Avocado Cilantro Egg rolls were really good as well as the yuca. I also ordered the Chicken Enchilada Bowl and while it was good for the most part, it was pretty basic. I really dont know what made this a fusion of Latin and Asian other than the white rice and siracha mayo. Chipotle taste better if I just wanted a chicken bowl with white rice. The service was great though and the atmosphere was quiet but its likely becasue the restaurant was not busy for a Friday night. I wont likely go again.

Excellent location. The service is great. I like the décor The food is amazing tasty. They are very sweet with the kids. The waiter is so kind and let us very comfortably. Everybody needs to stop and eat a best Poke food. Ops the yucca is perfect .

I love stopping in for lunch when I am in town, this visit was outstanding. I have a food allergy, the manager and staff went through what I ordered and made sure I was safe to enjoy my lunch. Moreover, the manager made a recommendation to me that helped me to avoid a certain item. This is unheard of as I dine out often, no manager has ever been so thorough. You made my day making me feel like I was a priority. The Mahi tacos are my absolute favorite and I will be back! :)

Taqueria Tsunami has a modern and artistic interior vibe and was matched well with the great service and food. The bartender was very nice and provided some honest (and delicious) recommendations. They had a wide variety of drink options, good appetizers and a dozen tacos to choose from amongst other food choices. A great choice if you are in Athens and want something reminiscent of Mexican but with an Asian twist.

Today has to have been an off day for this location. My roommate and I went into the restaurant at 2, every table was filthy and the hostess couldn’t find a clean table to sit us. That’s okay it’s busy we get it we’re both servers. We wait for a clean table and our server who was also the bartender came fast took our order and gave us drinks. Very great. That’s all the positive I can say about this trip. The food took almost an hour to arrive at our table. Our server/bartender did not come back to the table one time to explain the wait or even give us drink refills which sat empty for 30+ minutes. The food that came out was cold and had been sitting for a while and looked absolutely horrendous. I would not serve anyone that food being a server. The person who brought us our food was very rude and threw the food down and walked away without asking if we needed anything else. Our server then took forever to even leave the bar as he appeared swamped with drinks to be made and customers. I guess the bar guest were his first priority and we were not. I will definitely not be back to this location. If the bartender can’t handle the bar he definitely should not have tables in addition. A picture of my food is attached!
