This food was soooo good! It came so close to my grandmas cooking and that’s saying something! This will forever be my go to spot when I’m in Chicago! I can’t stress enough how amazing and delicious this all came out! 100/10 recommend! 🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷
The food was so so good! I live in Hyde park and typically have to travel to HP for PR food which sucks due to traffic. I happened to come across this place on Google. So glad I checked this place out. About a 20 min drive compared to 40 mins. And like I stated the food was so good, very flavorful authentic PR food and good portions for a decent price. We got the monfongo con lechon, Tania sandwiches and pastilitos. Highly recommend! The customer service was great as well. I will definitely be returning.
The restaurant always offers great food, however today as I was eating I couldn't help but notice a cockroach crawl from the window next to our table onto the wall and then onto the seat my girlfriend was sitting on. We had to leave immediately, we did not let the restaurant know because we were very uncomfortable with the situation.
If you have not been here RUN!!! The food is amazing , amazing, amazing!! So flavorful and delicious!!!
Insanely high prices. Very disappointed in how salty the puerto rican rice was. The chicken jibarito was also like I never had before, in a bad way. Not enough chicken and it was cut up in little pieces all weird. I only gave them 3 stars because their steak jibarito wasn't too bad. Also would not recommend their papas rellenas - super bland.
Some of the worst food I have ever eaten. First of all, when you open a restaurant that is in the same location as a previous restaurant, CLEAN the place! The windows had the same grease from the previous restaurant and the ceilings and walls were DIRTY, GREASY, and YELLOWED. Also, if you can't afford to clean the floors with the greasy linoleum and at least put in some new tables, DO NOT OPEN!! The little tables in the middle were painted black with chips of paint coming off. I can only hope that the paint they used was NON-TOXIC!! Also, UPDATE your menus. When I asked what type of bottled water they had, I was told by the waitress that they only had tap water. When I asked if I could have a side salad, I was told they don't offer that. Why were these items on the menu if you DO NOT offer them. Then the waitress told me they had pink lemonade but not to order it because another customer did and it was "watery". When I ordered the grilled chicken breasts, I specifically asked if they were actually grilled or fried, I was told they were grilled. When my food was brought out, the chicken breasts were lightly breaded and fried, NOT GRILLED. Also, my order was brought out with white rice not the Puerto Rican rice. When my order came back, I miraculously had beans and lettuce on my plate. Also, my son's order had to be sent because he was given white rice and NOT Puerto Rican rice. That being said, the taste of the food was not anything to write home about. I feel that this restaurant should know better especially since they are already in the restaurant business. I would hate to see what there East Chicago location is like. Also, I am sick and tired of all the good reviews. It seems like people just eat anything anymore without a standard of quality and knowing what's good. This is just another mediocre Hobart restaurant. Tania's, CLEAN this place up !!! P.S. I glad I didn't get to see the bathroom!!!!
Normally I come to this restaurant because I like eating different foods. But today, I went in to pick up my order and once I made it home, I was presented with 3 over cooked pastellios, and mushy rice. Although I don’t expect for the food to be the EXACT same every visit, it would’ve been nice to get compensated or even offered a remake of my order. Because I’m come here often, I know how the food is when it’s freshly made. I don’t usually complain, because I don’t have to. But it isn’t right of you all to offer no options other than driving all the way back to the restaurant to speak with the manager and her POSSIBLY offering a refund, but not even sure that she can/will. Not the best customer service.
It is my first time here and I went to the Hobart location. Let me just say that the food was amazing 👏. I give it a 10 out of 10, I mean sooo delicious 😋. I highly recommend this place.
