We had a party of 8 with a birthday. The service was prompt. The food was cooked perfectly. We had shrimp, salmon, steak, and chicken. The chef did a great job. The flavor of everything was really good; we can't wait to go back. We thought the prices were very good for the quantity of quality food.
Nice environment and experience! Had a blueberry martini (very sweet!) and the vegetarian hibachi dinner with fried rice. Had a very kind and talented chef, and the food was pretty tasty at the end. In comparison to other hibachi experiences I’ve had, the food here was lacking a bit in flavor and they do not offer udon noodles with the meal, so that was just a tad disappointing. I would still come back here, though, and I definitely enjoyed my leftovers the next day!
The food and service were great. They were really busy since it was Valentine's Day, but I still think they did a pretty good job of turning tables without really making people feel rushed. They could definitely use better ventilation -- it was really smoky when the chefs were cooking/making onion volcanoes and my jacket definitely smells like the restaurant now -- and the floors were quite slippery. Overall a fun experience and really yummy food.
Always amazing! Everything we've had has been fantastic. This time we had the Hibachi Steak, the Snake River Farms Kobe Ribeye, and an extra shrimp appetizer. Also recommend the Pineapple Whip or Blue Long Island to drink.
Always love Takaoka! The food has never disappointed, nor has the service. Always such a fun experience! The kiddos absolutely rave about it, I just brought my son and some family/friends for my sons 10th birthday. I loved that the chef let the kids interact. 11/10, always recommend 🫶
Mark (older man) was amazing!!! Great energy. Good was amazing. When we come back we will definitely be requesting mark again… great personality made the experience even better. Ended the night off right!
Cooks and servers were phenomenal. The price and food quality is fair. As for the manager, she treated me and my family like we were pests. The only difference between us and the other families were we're black. She never checked in with us like the others. Threaten to cancel our 6pm reservation but our table wasn't even ready until 6:20pm. We didn't get the birthday song played like everybody else. And they wanted our checks taken care before we ate which they didn't do to everybody else. Hate has no place in our society, do better or I hope they get better management.
We celebrated some birthdays at Takaoka of Japan. The staff and service were incredible! Chef was outstanding and our server was always refilling our drinks. We never had to ask for a refill. We will definitely be revisiting. I highly recommend this for any visitors of Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Feels like a modern Japanese anime atmosphere. When walking in I turned to my friend and said, "I feel like I just entered Big Hero 6!" Food was top notch and akin to dishes that you would see in the ever popular card game Sushi Go Party! I ordered t
