Hands down the best Philly Cheese I have ever eaten. And I am 54. My fiance had the enormous burger and it filled him up. By the way he is 6'6". If you love jazz this is your joint.

We were looking for a place for lunch on Saturday around Alton . I noticed Tab's Cafe had a 4.9 . This is a severe underrating . Tabs is definitely a 10 out of 5 . We noticed large portraits of blues greats on the walls and a bands instruments set up in the small place . The guys at the next table got up and took their places . The NGK band proceeded to play these guys are good really good the food was outstanding also one of the best burgers I ever had . It was way more than we had expected . My girlfreind and I go around looking for places to eat . I had picked this on maps quickly without reading what was there as we left she said to me . Well I think that is the best place we have been you hit a home run . I have to agree but it was a complete and very pleasant surprise. I highly recommend if you are hungry and around Alton Tabs is the place you need to go.

Really cool and informative tour of the lock. You are able to go all the way out to the middle and look out over the Mississippi. The museum itself is also very neat and interactive, great for families with children.
