I love Thompson Park. My family has been going there for years now and it never disappoints. Especially with the new playground being built my siblings are very excited. It’s good for picnics, babyshowers, and parties. The equipment is very fun and enjoyable with kids, teenagers and maybe adults as well.
So I mostly go here for the recreational game room they have really nice ping pong tables the staff is really awesome the environment's safe and clean, the only issue I have of 8:10 2023 is that there's no AC in the kids recreational room or Game Room I should say sucks when it's 90° and humid other than that it's nice I'm thankful for this place.
Brand new play grounds for the kids. However restroom at the back of the park are in bad shape.
Really ugly worn down park, stopped by here for a moment, never coming back. The lack of maintenance reflects poorly on the parks & rec.
The baseball fields are well taken care of and there weren't any transients hanging around from what I could tell. There's some tree cover around the park's western edge for shade when it's sunny. Bellflower allows business permits to enterprising mobile vendors as well. We had some delicious crushed ice refreshments after the game.
Barely a few trees at the parking, it would make one hesitated to stay, seeing one’s car being baked under a hot sunny day!
Great park! Both play areas are very well kept and fun and exciting for the kids. What's really nice are the gates around the separate play areas to keep the little ones safe. You don't have to worry about your kid running too far. This is especially good for my son who can run really fast. There is plenty of space for running inside each play area.
One play area is catered to small kids, the other is suited better for bigger kids, preschool and older.
What is also very nice is the absence of sand. They used soft wood chips instead which is actually very comfortable even barefoot. And unlike some other parks there isn't a bunch of trash ask over the place.
The smaller kid play area has special play equipment for handicapped children. There are portions that are even accessible by wheelchair, including a large rocking platform that can fit an entire family.
Some play equipment here is unique. It's a nice park to visit.
The grass is green and will maintained. The picnic areas are nice. The parking is spacious. In season there is even a swimming complex in which there are exercise classes available.
This is always my go-to park because I live so close to it. There has been a large increase of homeless people but, for the most part they keep to themselves and don't bother anyone. I've only had one incident with a woman yelling and screaming at people. I've lived across the street for 10+ years and its always been a nice place to be. People are always throwing baby showers, playing soccer and just overall enjoying themselves.
