Sweet Breeze Inn - Motel in Grants Pass - 1627 NE 6th St, USA

When we arrived here we had to stand outside to register. The man who waited on us was rude and unfriendly. It is advertised as pet friendly. We had planned to check in and go get something to eat. He informed us that pets were not to be left in the room unattended. We assured him that our small dog would probably sleep while we were gone. He said we'd have to leave him in our car. When we said it's over 100 degrees out he'll die, he said that's your problem. We said we'd look elsewhere for a room. He replied that he was going to charge us for the room anyway. Needless to say we found a nicer, friendlier place just down the street

Just had a lovely first meeting with the owner or night manager. He was extremely brief on the phone and practically hung up on me when I was inquiring my about amenities he offers. Then when I finally arrived and gave him my ID and debit card for payment he took a photo of it. Not really seeing that before with other hotels I politely asked if after my stay he deleted them. He responded yes and I mentioned iCloud backups. He then quickly gave me back my cards and told me to go to another motel. Keep in mind this is right at midnight after a 12 hour long road trip. Maybe the fact I’m a transwoman has something to do with it as well? 🤷‍♀️ ||Idgaf about the trans part but it certainly irks me that I can’t confirm 100% he truly deleted my info. I’m definitely going to be ordering a new debit card now.||Oh well rather give money to someone nicer and not shady :)

The guy running this place does weird business. After paying for the room and tax fees through Expedia, he’s wanting more money.. which is fine for a deposit.. but a CASH only deposit of 50 dollars that is “refundable”. Cause that’s not weird, and absurd. When Expedia contacted him to ask him to work with me. He wouldn’t budge, at all. I am now out $56 dollars. Considering how many people reviewed of having money taken? Yea. Thank god I paid through a 3rd party that took payment via card. I can actually have the guarantee of maybe getting my money back. Cash only is wild when your reviews allude to thievery behavior.

Positive: Location was okay. I did like the room layout. Negative: Not clean. This should not be rated as a 2 star. I took a video of the bathroom in hopes I was able to post it so everyone could see what I meant by not clean. Also, appeared that long term tenants stayed here.

The room seemed clean until I went to sleep in the bed that was full of bedbugs and woke up at midnight full of bites. I couldn't sleep there. So I went to the office where the lady at the reception treated me very badly and she told me that the bedbugs were coming from me when they were not. They were in her bed at her hotel. She didn't want to change my room and left me on the street with my things outside at midnight. I didn't have a car and he didn't have the intention of asking me if I could at least go somewhere else or call a taxi. She made me feel super bad and was not very empathetic to the situation. I would never return to that place and I hope no one does because it is terrible. There are better places for that price and with better service. She returned my deposit money.

I have been helping a homeless couple over the last few weeks by providing work. They have been staying in their car or at a camp site most nights, while working on finding permanent housing, but every now and again they need to be indoors, get showers--you know, normal living kinda stuff. So I called over to the "Sweet" Breeze Inn to put their deposit on my credit card so they could have a cheap room for the night. It seemed like it was not gonna be a problem. To make a long story short, the manager put me on hold to take care of someone in the lobby. His son (I'm guessing, sounded like) picked up the phone shortly thereafter, and began to take my information for the deposit. 'Dad Manager' got all huffy (I could hear him in the background), jumped on the phone and proceeded to tell me he didn't want my "trashy" business for a $40 room rate (he and I hadn't discussed rate AT ALL, but apparently the pending guests had), and then he had the gall to hang up on me. I called back to try and get the business handled, but the guy was blatantly unprofessional and juvenilely obnoxious, all the while displaying a minimal grasp of 'love thy neighbor' (to be kind), and hung up on me yet again. I ended up going to Quality Inn for them instead. Based on my experience, I recommend you find anywhere else to stay the evening in Grants Pass, OR., BUT NOT HERE!

My son & I were traveling to Washington, we needed a room with ADA accommodation, gentleman in reception was friendly & helpful. Room was clean and nicely decorated. Bed was very comfortable, definitely stay there again.

I thought this place was charming and cozy. It’s not a five star hotel, but it was a good price, felt clean, the bed was nice. The front desk was cheerful and friendly. Thanks!
