We used Sweet Ali's for our wedding cake, and it did not disappoint! Not only was the cake delicious (brown sugar cake with raspberry preserves and vanilla buttercream), but it was also beautiful. We gave them a reference photo of what we wanted, and they delivered. They had a very easy and well-thought-out process, from the cake tasting to delivery. They were very responsive and easy to communicate with. Many of our guests (not gluten-free) wanted the gluten-free cake when they knew it was from Sweet Ali's. I would highly recommend them for wedding cakes (or any other cake).

As someone with a severe soy allergy, I was so nervous to even get a wedding cake due to soy being in so many desserts. Sweet Ali's made it possible for me to have an allergen friendly wedding cake that was both delicious and beautiful! We had the lemon cake with raspberry preserves and everyone loved it! Everyone was shocked to hear it was gluten and soy free and said it was one of the best cakes they had ever had at a wedding. The cake arrived in perfect condition, the delivery was prompt, and their service throughout the process was phenomenal. We highly recommend Sweet Ali's for your wedding day, especially to those who need to be allergy conscious!

Haven’t been here in awhile they never disappoint. The best thing I bought was the carrot loaf, my husband loved it. He couldn’t tell it was gluten and dairy free. Everything from Sweet Ali’s is fabulous!

Excellent bakery with many choices for gluten-free items. Have served their baked goods for family meals and keep hearing that the "food is delicious; doesn't taste any different" (high praise for gluten-free).

Was in Chicago and made the effort to drop by here-absolutely worth the time. I wish there was a Sweet Ali’s in every state. Great service and amazing gluten free items at reasonable prices. I will be checking out their mail order options!

DO NOT ORDER CAKES THROUGH ONLINE SYSTEM! As instructed by the online website, allow one week notice for “custom cakes.” I submitted the order and my payment information to which I received a confirmation email. The email stated I would receive a confirmation when my cake was completed and ready for pickup. The day of pickup came and I received 3 separate texts and 2 emails that my cake was ready for pickup. I arrive about an hour later, wait in line, and show the cashier my order number as instructed by the text. She asks for my last name which I provided, walks away, and comes back 30 seconds later asking if I ordered my cake online. I told her “yes,” to which she replied “yeah, we don’t get those orders so we don’t have your cake.” I ask what do you mean, I paid, received the confirmation email and texts this morning saying it was ready at 11:12am. She just said “yeah.. there’s an issue with that system so we don’t get the orders.” I’m sorry, but why have a system on your website if it doesn’t work. I am now without a cake. She asks to see the email and said “yeah and for these cakes we need 2 weeks notice.” Then why does the website say one week? No apologies. No accommodation. Just was informed “well you can just get a cake from the fridge.” Unfortunately they didn’t have the cake flavor I ordered but had cupcakes. I understand that things happen but I won’t be returning to this bakery ever for 2 reasons: if you know there’s an issue with the online ordering system, REMOVE IT FROM YOUR WEBSITE. AND if the issue/problem is from your end, apologize. Having 2 ladies shrug their shoulders and just tell me how they’re aware of the issue haven’t done anything to correct it, that’s just bad business practices. When I asked for the refund, they said I have the contact the online system. What? I don’t care if you have the best gf desserts, correct your mistakes and take care of your customer. This was just rude.

My sister and I recently took a cake decorating class at Sweet Ali's, and it was such a fun and educational experience. I have always wanted to take a cake decorating class, but being gluten-free made that a bit more difficult, so I was super excited when I saw this being offered on their website. Before this class, I struggled with just icing the cake, but by the end, I was able to pipe beautiful flowers. The staff was very knowledgeable, fun, easy to follow, and eager to help. The price of the class felt like a bargain, considering we got to leave with a delicious 6-inch two-layer cake and everything else we learned. I would definitely recommend taking one of Sweet Ali’s classes.

This was a cake for a surprise baby sprinkle for a dear friend who's gluten free. The cake looked beautiful however the ganache tasted like it had coffee in it and the texture of the cake was very dry, gritty and not moist at all. The overall flavor of the cake wasn't inedible however slicing it was very trying. I picked the cake up from the bakery 5 hours before serving it (let it sat out as instructed by employee) and the cake was still tough to slice, incredibly dense, and the frosting fell off the crumb of the cake in clumps with every slice;it was quite embarrassing. I won't be returning.
