Swamp shack - Cajun restaurant in Friendswood - 1330 W Bay Area Blvd, USA

I have been here a few times and keep forgetting to review on google. They have a fun atmosphere with an alligator in the building when you walk in. The drinks here are really good, the bloody mary is spicy so let them know if you dont want it spicy. Yesterday we got the weekend pot and added 2 clusters, more than enough food. I do wish they had different flavors for tossing the crab in but they keep it simple and it works. This place is not overpriced like other crab places and they dont overcook the shrimps either. Well worth the money if you like crablegs.

The decor really gives off Nola vibes. I feel like I am back home somewhere in the French quarters. The service is extremely slow. You would think at 1p.m. on a weekday we wouldnt have to wait 1 hour for our food when they are literally six other tables 4 of which had food already. I don't know if they put our order in wrong and had to redo it or what. We were literally on the verge of walking out when they showed up with our food. The waiter was nice and friendly. The tacos was very dry but had a decent flavor he said. He only ate half of 1. And that is saying something because all he does is eat tacos. The mud bug burger tasted very seafoodish. It was very flavorful. The fries were nice and crispy. The grill Captain Plata was okay I will not order it again. The spinach tasted just like my father used to make it growing up, reminded me of old times. The snapper wasn't the best I tasted it. It has almost a fake fish taste to it I don't think I will return here again

Excellent experience, outstanding service. We usually go there for afternoon drinks and oysters. I love their oysters Rockefeller, they are absolutely delicious and best around! And I sample them everywhere and always, since we live here, and even Galveston can’t compete. We always have a great time there, thank you! Outstanding !

We had a birthday dinner for myself, my daughter amd my son in law. The waitress was fantastic. She kept.up.with ouir drinks. We dod not have to ask.for anything. We had a part of 18

Ordered a fried platter with shrimp, chicken, and fish with onion rings. The best thing about the meal was the shrimp and hush puppies. The fish was ok, but the chicken strips and onion rings were not much to write home about. Which is disappointing considering the price of the meal. Cocktail sauce was great, but the tartar sauce lacked much flavor.

I’ve heard reviews about this place and decided to give it a chance again after my bad experience the first time. First time the shrimp tasted very foul and expired. Almost as if it came out of the swamp. Second time: I ordered the Cajun pasta. This dish is extremely overpriced. Over cooked fettuccine noodles, Mediocre pasta sauce and no seasoning in the pasta. I essentially paid $30 for frozen pasta meal.

We have been customers of this restaurant for the last 6 years, and as soon as they opened this location, we started visiting them here! As always, Great.! Always the same flavor, always friendly service. Nathan was my waiter before, and today he is the manager, he always checking around that everything is fine.!

The food was surprisingly good. I got the alligator burger and fries which I would definitely recommend. However the server was horrible. She was rude and not took forever. There weren't even that many people in the restaurant. Overall if your just looking for good food and can deal with horrible service than this place should be great but if you care about the customer service I do not recommend AT ALL.
