Nice place to stay, fridge was a little loud at night. I unplugged it solved the issue. Nice place close to downtown walking distance to all areas. We walked to beach in the morning, good brisk walk, its an uphill walk back was good exercise. Fireplace in the room was a plus! Plenty of parking.
Great place to stay! Clean, large, well equipped rooms. With 2 dogs, the grassy area in front of our room was great to have. Bed was super comfy and the hotel is perfectly located a short walk to anything you want. Will definitely stay again!
This place is old, dirty and overall sucks. I was gathering my stuff together to leave as check out time was 11am and they were calling me at 11:04. I would have been able to leave before then but had to make several trips down the street as they do not have enough parking spaces for their guests! Rooms are poorly appointed and not near as nice as what they show on the website. They look like they just found whatever old furniture and stuck it in the room. They also don't have air conditioners in the room, so you have to have the windows open and this place is so loud you can't get any sleep, between the trafffic and loud neighbors it never stops.
Everything about this town is great. So many restaurants to choose from and everything is walkable. Golf, 17 mile drive and all other beauty spots are within minutes by car.
It was okay. Our room 7 had lots of markings all over the walls and some paint damage. These things take a second to clean but haven't been done in months. More stains on bedding than usual. Staff was friendly and nice. Expect when trying to pay for a late checkout. Then it was a hard no. I understand not being able to accommodate late checkout but then please remove the pay option from the website. Don't advertise something you won't do. There was a constant beeping heard from our room 24/7 and the walls are thin you can hear all your neighbors. We stay in Carmel every 4 months for work and won't be back there are many other places nearby, better for travelers.
It was a misty and chilly weekend in August, so the fire in the cozy lobby and homemade cookies were very welcoming! ||Room was comfortable. Water pressure was lacking in shower but everything was very clean!
Total disappointment! The room we were given was warm and smelly. I asked for a different room but was told I would need to pay an "upgrade" fee. I did not ask for a better room I just asked for one that was habitable. We tried cooling it down and airing it out by opening the windows but when we came back later the room still stank--as if someone had used an entire can of air freshener to mask another smell--and it was still very warm. It's possible that the thermostat was broken since Carmel is not a warm city, especially in May. There was no way I'd be able to sleep in that room and I refused to give them any more money! Since we live only 2 hours away we decided to just cut our losses and drive home that evening.
I believe it was very shortsighted of the hotel to not give us a different room without asking us to pay anything extra. I can't remember when I've ever experienced such poor customer service. There were plenty of empty rooms and lots of vacancies throughout the city so it was doubtful that they were getting an 8pm rush of guests for the "better" rooms.
Good trip. Understand it was sold and being renovated. Would come back. Great location. Brophys tavern across the street is outstanding. Walking distance to all of Carmel.||

Such a pleasant stay at Tradewinds! This is a dog friendly inn on Mission street, just a few blocks from great shopping and dining. The hotel was quiet and my room had partial (and beautiful!) views of the ocean. The check in service was great and ea
My favorite beach on the California coast! I prefer it in the winter when it's less crowded. There's always, always, people on it though. Beautiful waves, soft sand, lots of space to walk at low tide. It's a great place to bring your dog but be aware
Sophisticated and cool with unusual, unique, quality merchandise. Several lines are Italy direct exclusives. I went in to purchase their vegetarian make up (no chemicals) and the soy based nail colors but found so much more. There are gift items for
Nice little town on the way to Big Sur! Each of the shop and/or property here are aesthetically decorated and taking a walk worths it. Free street parking available for limited time frame so watch out. Several gas stations and restaurants are around
Really perfect place for kids to play. The water is warm and clean, and there are a lot of pelicans resting in the river. Besides, you may explore the sea creatures in the rock such as crabs, hermit crab, fish, and sea ââurchin. You can also rela
