Love this place! Was recommended to me by a local and did not disappoint - will be back. Delicious, fresh, very reasonably priced and portions were great. I was impressed with the sashimi - so buttery. Didn’t take long to be seated (but a longer waiting list formed after we started) but easy to put your name on the list and they seat you asap. Staff were friendly and happy to help or provide recommendations.

I was here for a quinceanera and came to this spot recommend by one of my friends. This has to be one of the best sushi restaurants I had been to,inside of the restaurant feels really authentic like a small restaurant in japan. I got the regular sashimi set, sushi dinner, and some rolls for my party, the sashimi is really fresh and mouth-watering, the rolls are filling with crab mixture goodness. One of the best sushi restaurants while traveling, will be back soon.

Sushi Tomi is a top-notch sushi restaurant that consistently serves fresh, delicious seafood. We enjoy going there every time, and we always find something new to try on the menu. Yesterday, we ordered the Tomi Special Roll (with Hamachi), the Spider Roll, Kanpachi nigiri, Sake/Toro nigiri, and Clam Miso soup. Everything was done to perfection and tasted amazing. The restaurant is typically very busy, especially during peak hours. The parking lot across the street can fill up quickly, so it's best to go during the weekdays and arrive early or park on a side street.

Good value for the price, especially the sashimi dinner and sushi dinners. It’s pretty busy and the service can be a bit slow. There was a bit of a wait and the restaurant is pretty loud, so I would say it’s better for casual meals. I got the sashimi plate and enjoyed it. We also tried the kara-age which was a bit too oily and not the usual texture that I’m used to compared to other karaage I’ve had at other places. The breading reminded me a bit of popeyes chicken. Overall I’d probably return again if I wanted sushi! I think I’d prefer to go to another place for a better atmosphere and similar price.

Delicious, however I do have a few minor complaints, I don't think there was any of the nigiris, the rice was a bit cold and the fish wasn't really cut very evenly, all of that said it's gonna be hard to find a better place anywhere close to this place probably.

bf and I had a great time out dinner on Fri. Went around opening time to avoid lines. Service was fast and efficient. Sat at the bar. Ordered omakase (sashimi), plus rainbow roll, salmon skin roll (my fav), and fried smelt. Omakase was really good value ($65) but we were disappointed by the salmon which we liked least. Rainbow roll was average. Really liked the salmon skin roll. Smelt was underwhelming, just 3 pieces and they were covered by some sort of wet salad (which imho makes the deep frying irrelevant...) Definitely recommend if you want good sushi, go early or risk a 30+min wait. Next time I go I'll just get the omakase and a large Sapporo.

Continues to be my favorite sushi place in Mountain View. Not great for families unless you can beat the crowd since there can be a bit of a wait and waiting in line with hungry kids isn’t the best idea.

Food was fine, but today I realized they over charged twice as much as what was on the check. Thank God I found it today and did not get my money stolen by "technical errors". Updates: Chase helped resolve the issue. Paid a second visit. I only had one person, but because I didn't check the bar option, they gave an open bar table to a person who came after me but asked for the bar. Yes, I should've asked if I could take the open bar. But bruh I was trying to be a patient customer and not disturb the already busy waitress. After what had happened I went to the other Japanese restaurant within 3 minutes of walking because experience in sushi Tomi screwed up my appetite anyway. I wish I could give this restaurant another 1 star but I'm too lazy to create a burner account for the shenanigans.
