Sushi King - Japanese restaurant in Daytona Beach - 238 N Nova Rd, USA

Updated: 1/3 We Walked in (fam of 5) with the hard smell of chemical cleaner lingering in the air. Which I get it… you have to clean… both hosts sitting in chairs at the front. The waiter was nice but the experience all and all was rough this time around. The fish on the sushi (nigiri) seemed less fresh and a bit slimy… the lemonade and soft drinks are watered down and tasting funny. Overall just a not pleasant food experience ( which in my last review was the saving grace on a star). First review: For an all you can eat sushi spot it delivers on portions and fair quality of food hands down. The reason for the mid range is because of the service unfortunately. I was with my daughters and checked in before another larger family. The other family of 5 was seated 5 minutes before we were even though they checked in after us. Past that our waitress was confused on a couple orders and that ended up having our table and another tables orders mixed up for a couple dishes. Time in between orders was also pretty slow so that said I am glad I placed a larger order at the beginning (knowing what my limits are on qty of sushi). They also didn’t have any kid friendly chopsticks… so I crafted my own for the kiddos.

Everything is always good here - new server today though and 1st day. The sushi chefs told her they gave us 2 sets of our non spices rolls that was specifically for 2 people in our party and they didn't. When we asked if we could get it to go then they said sure but we have to charge you. They also automatically put a very generous tip for themselves on our party of ONLY 6 total. The amount of tip definitely was not deserving based upon the complete disorganization - lack of chefs providing what we ordered - as we worked with a small table and new server. Could have been better given the circumstances.

Amazing service great quality and taste of the sushi. Great deals for lunch and dinner. All you can eat sushi. Only thing I didn’t like was that it was a bit too dark in there and too quiet.

Food was good. The Restaurant was clean. It's very dark inside this establishment, mood lighting, I guess. I got takeout. Best Maki roll I had while in Daytona. Very cool restaurant, I wish it was closer to home.

I’m here from Tokyo for work and tried Sushi King today. It’s the best sushi I’ve had since being home in Tokyo! I don’t understand how it’s only $17 for the style and atmosphere. The server, Chris, was skilled and very polite. He knew about Japanese culture and was very professional. Excellent steak and top grade sushi, especially for being outside Japan. The style of ordering the sushi is exactly the same as in Tokyo. I was amazed by the cool architecture and sushi chefs working diligently. It felt like I was back in Japan. Very hospitable staff as everyone was exceptionally friendly and best customer service I’ve experienced in a long time!!! Definitely worth the small price and so much fun!

Food was good and great options for sushi/ hibachi lovers. Price was fair considering the food we ordered. Will return when I’m back in town. Jasper was a great waiter!

Initial service was really bad. 5 or 6 people sat after us got food first before ours when we have not even gotten our drinks yet. Things like bowl of white rice, plates, seaweed salad was brought out after 2nd or 3rd time asking. First plate of the sushi was not as fresh and they are very skinny in size. 2nd batch of order was much better and service was better. 2 servers for such a big restaurant was defintely was not enough to accomadate dinner rush. This is on the management not on the server.

When you’re in Daytona, Port Orange, or that area and your hungry this is the place to go. Service is fast and you can get a lot to eat for about $23 even cheaper at lunch. It’s all you agree with all different types of crab and seafood. You won’t be disappointed the quality is pretty good for the price. The place is large and Accommodate a lot of people. The server was nice, friendly and efficient so give this place a try especially if you’re hungry
