We called ahead before coming since it was an hr drive for us. They told us we can come and get seated 7:30pm. We got there and although our seats weren’t quite ready, they got us seated within minutes. The service was also great along with the food. I’m not a big sushi so I stuck to my sweet potato roll which was super tasty compared to other places I have tried. Everyone else had all you can eat for $29.99 and they all loved it!
I recently dined at Sushi City in Downers Grove during lunch, and it was a delightful experience. The staff warmly welcomed us, offering the option of an all-you-can-eat menu, though we decided to explore the main menu for our first visit. The starters, including spicy miso soup, dumplings, and Crab Rangoon, were impressively fresh, with the Crab Rangoon standing out as a particularly delicious choice.
Moving on to the main course, the Godzilla maki and Chicago fire rolls were exceptional, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to using fresh ingredients. What stood out to me was not only the quality of the food but also the soft-spoken and warm demeanor of the staff. It wasn't just our waiter; everyone we encountered exhibited genuine friendliness. Overall, Sushi City in Downers Grove provided a memorable dining experience with delicious food and a welcoming atmosphere.
When we come in my husband and I we feel like they know our order, It has been the same for over 5 years. We love the food the environment and specially the service, we drive from midway airport to downers grove just to go to our favorite sushi spot! The Mexican maki is our favorite, shrimp tempura is always warm and savory and I just love my avocado cucumber roll.
We had dinner for 2 people 65$ nice , cool atmosphere. First time here. Friendly atmosphere, food was little bit late cuz restaurant was so busy. Udon noodles were not so good. It is only my concern. Sushi was amazing 🤩 side dishes 🤩🤩🤩 Sooo Goood

The wait time was over an hour and a half and the place was chaos. With that being said, for $29.99 all you can eat sushi, the food was surprisingly good.
The Chicago Fire roll was my personal favorite.
The service was fast and the staff was very polite and accommodating.

This spot is unassuming, and not until you walk in to see how packed it is do you realize something legit is going on.
All you can eat sushi for under $30 per person, keep ordering all the rolls and apps you can enjoy. Appetizers come out on the little robot which is cute but can be confusing.... someone took our app once, and another time the robot brought us apps for the table next to us.
Sushi is fresh and made to order, super tasty, and there is a huge variety to choose from on the all you can eat menu. They get pretty crowded on weekends nights- be prepared to wait for a table at peak times. It's worth it!
The best AYCE in Downers Grove! The price is $30 for the dinner option which is reasonable for how much food is included. The staff is incredibly friendly! Kellie walked us through the menu and gave us suggestions we really loved. My favorite roll was the torched dragon. You can tell the chefs put a lot of effort into the presentation of the rolls and they taste amazing! On weekends it gets really busy for dinner sometimes around an hour wait. But if you call ahead they will give you an estimate of how long the wait is. Overall 5 stars from me!
