This was our first time staying here. It was recommended by a friend. The room was small, but we booked late so only a basic room was left. It was very close to the pool and beach which was awesome. It was VERY CLEAN, so kudos to housekeeping. There was very little water pressure. As for the staff, most were very welcoming except the staff at the rooftop bar. The grounds were very well cared for. There were staff always cleaning were pleasant. There’s a nice private beach with watercraft you can take out for free. Best of all, it was on the main drag so everything was within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again just getting a larger room.

The room was comfortable and clean. The staff is incredibly friendly. I would have given a total 5 star rating except the water pressure in the main building leaves a little bit to be desired, but it’s workable. You can’t be the location, and the rooftop restaurant and bar is wonderful and so convenient. The pool, and beach access are fantastic. We will definitely be back!

Enjoyed our second year staying here, the staff is always so nice! Especially Maritza at the front desk she checked us in and out and answered any questions and made us feel welcome. The room we ended up staying in this year was definitely older than the room we had last year but it's fine as we didn't spend much time in the room. It also had an odd smell. The room was clean though and honestly I rather have a clean old room than a dirty newer room.

My son and I loved the lake amenities we used the Kayaks and had a great time at the beach area, it was not too crowded. It was great the pool was heated as we were there last week in August so it gets chilly sometimes. My room this time was a little dusty around the corners and the toilet in the bathroom is way too close to the door. The service was great and prompt though when we needed extra towels. Two restaurants onsite we tried the breakfast two days it was ok, service was a little slow but understandable it is vacation time. The rooftop restaurant is the best! The views are amazing and a pretty good selection of different things to eat. Service was amazing and friendly and I loved that the server came to our pool table too!!

Absolutely loved it here! Just spent a week with my family including two teenagers and everybody had a wonderful time! Not sure what others are talking about in their reviews because all of the staff that we encountered were some of the nicest people that I have ever met in my entire life! Absolutely loved the location of this hotel, parked our car and didn't touch it once! We had a suite with a Lakeview and balcony… we loved having the kitchen amenities because we brought some stuff that way we could eat some meals in the room so we didn't have to eat out all the time! One thing I definitely would suggest if you stay here is to spend the extra money at least on the view so you don't have to stare at a parking lot! They do provide body wash and shampoo in the room but make sure you bring body lotion and conditioner because none of that is provided! One thing that the resort is lacking is umbrellas/shade and I know this is because they don't want to obstruct the view to the lake which I totally understand… We were able to snag chairs at the pool that were in a shaded area but be warned that there aren't that many shady spots! Food at the rooftop bar was fantastic along with the drinks! On certain days they had a waitress at the pool which was a total bonus… We had Erika a couple of days and she was absolutely terrific! This was our first time in Lake George and it certainly won't be our last! We will be returning to Surfside! Thanks for a great week! 🌈💛🛶

The location, with it's lake front access and pool are nice, and the room was also nice, BUT once they had my money there was no concern about my satisfaction after I was wrenched out of a sound sleep at 3:00 AM by the bad smoke alarm! This was a problem that I had reported twice the previous day! I requested a refund for the one night which I felt was a very reasonable request given that I did not get the benefit of a decent nights sleep or use of the pool/lake before having to check out at the regular 11:00 check out time, but my request was denied based on my signing an agreement to pay when I checked in. What happened to being concerned about a happy and possible returning guest?! I pride myself on being respectful and appreciative, and do not ask for anything that I don't feel is fair and appropriate. Rest assured I WILL NOT BE RECOMMENDING Surfside On The Lake to anyone.

Pro: We had an amazing time. The view was amazing. We had Lakeview. The room was cleaned and our bed was made every day by the workers. The front desk staff was kind and helpful. Con: The restaurant was overpriced and not that great. We were misinformed by the website. We thought it had elevators on all the buildings. They only had elevators in the main building. My grandparents were struggling to go down 36 steps one way. They had to stay in the room most of the day because it was too much. They should have taken the rocks out to walk to the lake by the patio sides. Poor kids were struggling to walk. The playground area needs some updates. The slide cut my little guy a couple of times.

I wish I could say all wonderful things. Unfortunately, I cannot. The pros: Breathtaking view. Location in town is great. Rooms are very clean. CONS: The breakfast restaurant and rooftop bar just close or don't even open whenever they feel like it. The food at both is actually really good but it was a guessing game as to when or if they would be open, and if open, would they stay open and/or be able to serve you. I couldn't get a burger on a Friday night at 8:15 because they said they couldn't keep up with orders so they stopped taking them. The following day at 6:45 pm the staff said they were tired and wanted to go home so were closing at 7:30 pm. at the rooftop bar. The bar also couldn't provide cold beer on tap, pina coladas and such as things were broken. The Internet was down, their computers were down. The lake amenities, paddle boarding and such close at 5 pm, which is ridiculous. People go there for vacation! The general manager I'm assuming it was told a friend who came in to talk about something that was wrong there that she could just leave then and never come back, never trying to talk to the guest and fix the problem. They were just rude and dismissive. Another friend had to argue with the front desk to get a parking spot that is included in the nightly price because they let random people park there who weren't paying guests. Another guest told them she would be late for her reservation, specifically told, them, and when they arrived after driving for 5 hours were told they gave the room away and that that was that. No apologies, no explanation, just simply acted as if they could not have cared less about it and that it was the guest's problem. For a family-owned business it was so upsetting the way in which they spoke to good, paying guests . I honestly don't get it. Obviously they are understaffed for whatever reason. I hate to even write this, but people should know how it is.
