The owner was great, friendly, did what he could to make sure you had a good time. Location is unbeatable, you are right on the beach, no crossing roads or driving. Rooms are beautifully decorated to match the setting. I loved my stay and am planning a second trip to prove it.
The surfcaster is Small Motel right on the ocean right off A1A. It was great just sitting by the ocean day and night in a very private beach area. While the rooms aren’t updated to modern styles, the bedding was very comfortable and rooms were very clean ! The motel provided us a very affordable private stay on the beach . It also has a great restaurant that just opened on site .
This place is a one-of. Nestled between A1A and a lovely stretch of beach. Our roomy second floor suite had a beachfront view. There were tables and chairs set up in the grass just behind the narrow dunes-- then the beach. The on-site restaurant is good food w/ reasonable prices and a wine list appropriate for the menu. Unfortunately we got the sense that the owner might have lost his enthusiasm for keeping the place maintained or that the low prices didn't allow necessary maintenance. We never had hot water, so the cold showers in March were bracing. We loved the casual, uncrowded vibe. We'd go back-- I'm confident they will have the hot water fixed.
I love staying here it's clean, so quiet sit in our place n hear the ocean very relaxing. The Owner Michael, his hospitality for anyone who comes your treated like friends, the Food is perfect as we eat 2-3 times a week here. So if u want a great place to stay with great food and private access to the Ocean this is the place to do so...
I had a great time. Everyone there was extremely nice. The room was very clean and had all the basic essentials. Very short walk to the beach. The property manager Jay lives on site, and will help you with anything. For the three days I was there he was always doing something. The Italian Restaurant this is less than 100 feet from your room was fantastic. Don't let the outside of the place fool you. It definitely needs a face lift. Note to Owner: Wood deck outside room #9 needs replacing. The AC unit right next to the bed it the master bedroom is extremely loud. It looks to be about 20 years old and needs to be put to rest. The one right next to the TV in the living room was just as bad. Had to max out volume on the TV it was so loud. I am still giving 5 stars because the staff and restaurant made up for it.
The shower was dirty, someone’s used soap. Had to be cleaned. Towels had hairs all in them. Had to be replaced. It got cold last weekend and there was no heat.very nice nest thermostat - only cools. Tv in living room didn’t work. Floors were super sandy. Sand all in the bed. Rugs would be nice. One broom, so small and old. Can buy nice ones at the dollar tree for $1. Freezer had something melted all in it. 🤢 We stayed in #7. French door did not lock. Manager said he was going to fix things. Nothing got fixed. Didn’t offer to move us. Seemed unconcerned. Anyone could have come into our room at night. Only positive is it’s on the beach. Manager bought us a|Pizza for our troubles. No money back was offered. Paid up front 🤦♀️ $135 a night. Not worth it. That’s why the 2 stars. Could be a nice place. Curtains mildewed. Window busted. Couch stained. Again, the sand....
A MISTAKE I WONT MAKE AGAIN!
Room was nasty! No latch on the door, Blinds were broken and would not close for privacy, Bathroom had hair on floor and walls, shower curtain was black with mildew, floor had NOT been cleaned! Air conditioner reeked of MILDEW!! Other tenants appear to be ‘staff’. (Drinking and partying right outside our door!) We left without staying a night but Rich DeAngelo charged us for the full weekend and refused to reimburse us a penny!!! We moved to the Hilton 30 minutes away and had a wonderful clean, quiet room!! We were told by locals the food is known for causing food poisoning! Wish I could attach photos I took!! (They tell the story!!)
Sorry I didn’t read reviews before booking!!
I would give this place negative stars if I could. I've never stayed in any place that was in worse condition. NOTHING worked properly, the stench of the sulphur water made us sick, the kitchen was disgusting - 2 missing burners, the other 2 rusted out, an old towel tacked over the window....- only one overhead light in the entire room, loose tiles on the floor..... The floor had more sand than the walkway outside. The door wouldn't latch unless dead bolted.I could go on and on. But the icing on the cake was the bed bugs that ate us alive. DON'T GO THERE!
Wow, what a little gem in a beautiful location. The owners were not there but the manager treated us like royalty. We were amazed at how clean and stunning everything was, we loved the quaint courtyard poolside. The breakfast was to die for, it simpl
Booked this Inn without seeing anything about it and it ended up falling in love with this place. Everything was so clean and beautiful decorated to fit that beach feel. The bed was so comfortable and the room was so cozy. Loved the deck overlookin
Port d'hiver is such a beautiful place. Everything was perfect from our room to the courtyard with fire pit to the main house. We really enjoyed social hour where we met some of the other guests as well as our very tasty breakfast. The entire staff w
