We booked this room for the price and location. First of all, the location cannot be beat. We were less than a block from the beach and could see it and the Broadwalk from the front porch and Fort Lauderdale and other areas of interest were a short drive away. If we had questions or needed recommendations, the host was quick to reply.||||Now, for the less than desirable . . .|| We did not realize that this was an old motel or that half of the units are long-term residents and half are rented out by the night. We expected a more typical AirBnB experience. || When we arrived, the key to our room was just left on the kitchen table for us and our door was left unlocked. Note: there is no office or staff and the front and back doors to this facility are wide open at all times. People frequently wander down the hallway in search of a free bathroom. Anyone could have entered our room and made a copy of the key! If my traveling companion was not a big strong male, I would not have felt safe staying at the Surf Inn. || I would have loved to sit on the front porch and enjoy the sights and sounds of the beach, but residents and neighbors used this as a smoking/drinking area almost 24/7. || The bathroom floor had stick-on tiles which didn't stick due to the humidity. "Most" of the bedroom floor was covered with a wood-like covering, but it stopped (randomly) on my side of the bed. I had to put a beach towel on the floor to cover the unevenness so I would not trip. Both of those floors were a safety hazard.|| || On a different note: While we were in Florida, much of the greater Fort Lauderdale area was without drinking water due to a construction accident. We were fortunate because we had water in Hollywood Beach!

We stayed in room #2, it is very spacious. The bed is large and the air conditioning is great. There is a kitchen with refrigerator. The place is steps from the beach. I like the rocking chairs on the front porch, we didn't sit in them because it was so hot when we were there for July 4th weekend, but they seem nice if it was cooler. ||||Isabel was very easy to deal with. We love the Broadwalk, it is at the south end of the Broadwalk, a bit away from the hustle and bustle but still easily within walking distance to all the bars and restaurants. We would definitely book Surf Inn again.

Honestly a cool, colorful and quirky place in an area dominated by lavishness. The rooms are very clean, quiet and safe. The room we stayed in included a small kitchen complete with refrigerator, stove, coffee maker, toaster, dishes, etc, made for spending an entire season in. The hotel is situated right off the beach in a safe, quieter part of town yet about a 10-15 minute walk from everything Hollywood has to offer.

My wife and I had wished to find a relatively inexpensive hotel in the Miami area for New Years week, our anniversary and late honeymoon. I wasn't looking for the Fountainbleu nor the Four Seasons, just something nice and simple, a short distance from the beach and the numerous kosher restaurants that Miami offers. We are orthodox Jews. I booked this hotel because it's right on the beach, and despite it's 2-star amenity rating it got excellent reviews. Right after I booked I did a google search for orthodox synagogues nearby, expecting to have to drive a few miles to find one. I didn't realize that there is a shul right around the corner. We weren't staying over shabbat, but I could imagine us doing so easily-The hotel is within the eruv. There's a stove top and a fridge if we wished to do our own cooking. The hotel manager was very nice to us. Not mentioned is the $10/night parking charge. I had confirmed with management prior to my arrival that parking would be available. One evening when we arrived home late (from a day at Disney) the lot was full. The manager found us an overnight spot a block away. She even gave is a bottle of champagne for New Years, which was really nice. ||I don't really have much negative to write- there's a big closet, ours happened to be a little stinky. Security-The windows were unlocked and I was nervous about the possibility of a break-in so I was sure to lock it. The door lock is also weak. We made sure not to leave valuables in the room while out.

My husband and I got married there on the BEACH! We spent the best time with our family and friends Isabel Thank you so much the BEST VACATION we went BOOGIE BOARDING MY son loved that! Beautiful Sunrises and gorgeous sunsets the Peace of the Ocean. I just miss that!

Just want to Thank Isabel! Its so PEACEFUL and Beautiful to wake up to the sunrises. So relaxing and pleasant! The people are so friendly! If you want to relax and enjoy casual dining, water sports like paddle boarding, snorkeling and shelling this is the place.

Your hidden gem. Very clean,close to the beach.Owner is very nice. It really does feel like home. we do recommend to stay here
