Surf Hotel & Chateau - Hotel in Buena Vista - 1012 Front Loop #1, USA

My daughter booked her wedding at this hotel for a mid January ceremony. Being from the Houston area I was skeptical due to the time of year and difficulty of getting there for the wedding party. I was also able to book a home rental through the hotel to accommodate several members of family and wedding party. The hotel is beautiful and at an amazing location next to the Arkansas River. Staff was friendly and professional, the restaurant was excellent. The wedding was perfect, beautiful and with very few hiccups.

My wife and I recently had our wedding at The Surf and it was a dream come true. The venue is beautiful, the food was incredible, and the staff are absolute professionals. The Surf accommodated so many of our requests to make sure the wedding aligned with our vision. The staff was extremely communicative throughout and worked with us on last minute changes. We never felt like we were just another wedding for the hotel to get through. The Surf and the vendors they recommended were just as invested in our wedding as we were, which is an amazing feeling.

Great stay! Stayed at the Surf Hotel for a friend's daughter's wedding. It is located in the quiet little town of Buena Vista, CO. The property is beautiful and the service exceptional. The wrap around patios were perfect to sit in the rocking chairs with friends, drink wine, and enjoy the beautiful hills surrounding the hotel. We could hear the Arkansas River rapids from the balcony as it runs right next to the hotel. The rooms are a little small, modern and extremely comfortable. The bar was excellent. You will not be able to get food or drinks late, so plan on eating early, or you will have to drive five minutes to Main St. to find options. You can rent bikes just down from the hotel and kayaks on Main St.. I really enjoyed the stay and have nothing bad to say about The Surf. Great people and a great stay.

The Surf Hotel is one of my favorite hotels in Colorado, and I stay here a handful of times every year while traveling for work. The rooms are large, clean, and comfortable—splurge on one with a balcony view, you won't regret it! I love the location right on the river, with a great little hiking trail loop that goes up the hill above the hotel with views towards the mountains, and plenty spots along the riverbank to enjoy some solitude. It's also a beautiful wedding venue, and it makes my job as a photographer so easy when every little corner of the property is so darn pretty!

Positive: It is really beautiful over all. Great atmosphere and surroundings. Love the simple design and feels peaceful. Negative: There was a wedding when I arrived so the hotel was full and staff was busy. The room has been very clean in the past but hair in the bed and the bathroom sink. Someone threw up in the hallway. Gross! Room was suppose to be river view but it was lawnview

David was a wonderful host. The property and experience were absolutely amazing. Hot tub under the stars was an additional surprise. Wonderful hikes down to the Arkansas river right out the back door.|Don’t pass up the opportunity to book if the property is avail. Highly recommended.

Overall a very good hotel in a terrific location on the Arkansas river in Buena Visto CO. The hotel is the result of an ambitious new urbanism venture in town led by kayaker Jim Selby & family & associates. We had great views of the river and scenery from our room, and there are lots of restaurants and other resources in walking distance in the new South Main development. The entire place has its hipsterish quirks, including stylish, minimalist bedrooms with comfortable beds but zero storage space, and dimly lit dark blue hallways. There's a long attractive bar and dining area full of locals, with excellent wines and a good menu. Generally the service is great, with a few exceptions of some staff who may have missed the hospitality course. Definitely worth a detour!
