SureStay by Best Western Brunswick - Lodge in Brunswick - 2300 Perry Lane Rd, USA

I have stayed in MANY hotels in my MANY years, including military service and since retirement and as an Independent Travel Agent, but I have NEVER stayed in one that was as bad as this one! Limited staff; I checked in over an hour later than they begin check-in and my 'assigned' room wasn't even done. The alternate room I was given had a peculiar odor, the TV remote didn't work (batteries), the phone was not connected, the desk clerk had very little knowledge of what he was doing and other procedures and policies, especially those related to the Best Western brand, and zero knowledge of it's rewards program. But the worst part of it all, was when I turned back the bed sheet. Bugs! Ants! Also, what appeared to be small blood stains on a pillow case and other stains on another! The linen itself did neither appear, nor smell like anything that should be considered for guests to sleep on! When I informed him of these issues, each as they occured, the only and best response was changing the batteries on the remote! He had no reponse for the phone issue, and his only response when I told him of the ants was "ants"?? So, I checked out just hours after I had checked in! Don't chance it...STAY AWAY! There are other hotels in the area, including a REAL Best Western PLUS just blocks away. That's where I ended up!

Horrible room. Phone had no cord. Remote didn't work. Holes in wall. Missing pieces of wall at bottom.|Bugs in several places. |Hard to believe Best Western allows this location in thir company. Paid $75 using Best Western's website as a reward member. After I paid on Best Western site, I saw it on Expedia for $17. Honestly, that's still too much.

NASTY!! pee stains on beds and pillows, we gagged when we walked into the room, it smelled so strong of URINE, there were blood stains on mattress covers, and food crumbs under the blankets. Our experience there was cut very short, we checked out right after checking in. And they refused a refund. This hotel isn't even clean enough for my dogs to stay! I will never make the mistake of coming here again. The front desk workers here showed no remorse and never apologized for the condition of the room. They didn't care at all! Sorry excuse for a hotel.

Place has bedbugs. Half the tv channels do not work. Hotels allow guests to be harassed for money and food from other guests or homeless stay outside around the property. The water smells so bad. Will not return. Best Western should be embarrassed to allow this place to operate under its name

The hotel itself is “okay”…..I won’t be staying there again. The beds are HARD and very difficult to get comfortable in, the hallway carpets are stained and very unappealing, plus the bathroom in our room had toilet paper all over the floor. We didn’t THROUGHLY check the room before saying it’s good. We went to the beach and came back after staying our first night and upon bathing my children I noticed a dirty disposable razor under the toilet between the toilet and bathtub…..I was not happy at all. On the 2nd morning, there was no breakfast because “the water was being tested”. I fail to see how cereal in disposable bowls affected the water or having bagels and muffins like they did the morning before did. Each time we would walk out of our room, the cleaning staff (barely spoke English) would continuously ask if we were leaving. After repeating ourselves several times we would just walk away and try to enjoy our family vacation.

An overnight stay off I-95. Rooms are small. Mattresses appear to be old. Big hole in wall in bathroom. Killed 2 bugs. It's the south so expect to see occasional bugs but hopefully only dead ones. No soap in our room. Cell service did not work in our room but worked outside. Internet code we were given did not work either. I booked online and paid $80. Walk in rate was $60. Best advice is to book upon arrival. It's a hotel that appears to be trying but just not there yet. It is pet friendly which is why we stayed.

Positive: Location. We stopped for the night, along our journey. Very convenient access off route 95. Restaurants, grocery store and gas¿s station right across the road from hotel. Negative: It¿s old & dingy. Carpet in common areas is stained & wood trim is in bad shape, giving impression that hotel is not clean. Bathroom is old and it¿s door didn¿t latch shut. Bed was clean, but two chairs in room were stained. We didn¿t want to sit on them. Negative: ""

We only stayed one of the two nights here. Apparently they have remodeled the second floor but we weren't allowed to stay on the second floor because we were traveling with a pet. We were given a room that wasn't clean or upgraded. I was able to work it out with Best Western reservations as well as Kevin the front desk manager. I received a refund for the second day and all of my bonus points back. Kevin was gracious enough to let us have our points and refund due to the unacceptable room. My bed was dirty so I pushed all the covers off of it and used a beach towel to cover up and a stuffed animal as a pillow. The TV didn't work, there was no coffee or coffee pot, the beds look like they haven't been changed comforters had holes in them. My pet couldn't even sleep in that room.
