Super 8 by Wyndham Watseka - Featured Reviews (275)
Stayed here for 2 nights for a wedding that was close by. Room was OK nothing spectator. Windows could use a good cleaning. No issues. Didn't see any reason for the negative reviews by other people, if you want upscale and fancy, stay somewhere else. This is a rural area not the city.
Clean, well run, top value for a modest class of hotel. I was desperate for a room when my car broke down late at night, and they held the last one for me. Check-in was polite and efficient, and the facilities were a pleasant surprise. Free WiFi worked well. The room wasn't fancy but was roomy, clean, and well equipped (refrigerator, microwave, iron and board, and good quiet heat/AC unit). Towels were scanty but fresh. Everything in the bathroom was in good repair. Free breakfast was also relatively complete for a budget hotel, eating area was small but clean, and everything was fresh. Checkout in the morning was also quick, polite and efficient. Well exceeded expectations!
We were here for the festival and there are not many choices in the area. Breakfast was minimal, and the place can use some sprucing up. The staff was nice and polite. The beds were comfortable.
Simply AWEFUL! Not even worth one star, but that's not an option. This is the worst experience at a hotel we have ever had. Upon arrival, we immediately noticed the glass on the front doors was extremely dirty. After entering our room, we immediately got online to see what other hotels were in the area, but unfortunately, there were none. The room smelled damp and musty and was very dirty. The one table was sticky on the edges, mirror and window were very dirty, carpet must be the original still and is dirty. It felt a little damp, as well. The room was so bad, we went to Walmart for cleaning supplies, so we could clean any surface our belongings would sit on. We also bought pillows, pillow protectors as well as our own towels, because after seeing the condition of the room, we did not trust how clean those things were. The one bed also must have a broken or bad frame, as anytime someone rolled over, there was a loud cracking. The shower had no traction or bath mat, so we had to put a towel down on it to prevent slipping. There were no towel hooks next to the shower. We did not complain to the hotel owner that night, who we are pretty sure lives in the hotel, because we wanted no trouble over night. My dad told him that we had to clean the room, and his response was, "You should have called, we have 24/7 cleaning service". Laughable response. Like we would trust their cleaning service when they let you check into that mess! We are also pretty sure there are people that basically live here; that it's not just an overnight hotel. It was creepy. It has caused to avoid any hotels by Wyndham. We are now trying to get our money refunded, and only get canned responses by bots. We did not even think about their breakfast after seeing the conditions of the hotel…we didn’t dare eat their food. Like someone else stated, any good reviews of this sham hotel must be fake.
I recently stayed at the Super 8 Watseka Motel and found it to be a decent budget option. The location is convenient, close to major highways, restaurants, and stores. The room was clean and comfortable, with useful amenities like a mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The staff were friendly and helpful, ensuring a smooth check-in and check-out process. Facilities included free Wi-Fi and a simple continental breakfast, both of which were adequate. Overall, for the reasonable rates, it offers good value, making it a reliable choice for a no-frills, comfortable stay in the area.
I reserved a hotel room, under a reserve now pay later. But they charged my card anyway and then I received an email stating that I needed to bring 50 in cash for a deposit. I decided to cancel it after that and they refused to give me my money back. Had to dispute it with my bank. That is ridiculous that they can take your money for something you did not use and refuse to give your money back. EDIT: the owner replied however their response was clearly to someone else as I never involved the police, so clearly this is a scam on the hotels part because I'm not only one this are doing this too! AVOID THIS PLACE.
BEWARE OF BED BUGS. My family and I stayed here due to my grandmother’s funeral, it was the only place in the area. This hotel has bed bugs and is beyond filthy. Found multiple full grown bed bugs and when politely getting the staff to inform him, my mother and I were yelled at and accused of bringing them in (that’s not even how that works). My brother now has multiple bites and all of us are absolutely disgusted by the state of that hotel and the behavior of the staff. This place is on track to getting shut down.
It's as expected in a small town venue. || We were glad to be there.||||It was clean. The room was cool when we walked in - as opposed to hotter than blazes. Which was very good for me, since over heating is detrimental to my medical issues
