Rooms smell like an ash tray, even a non-smoking room. The hallways reeked of marijuana. Loud music was played till 2am. There was roaches all over the room and bathroom. I couldn’t even take a shower because there wasn’t any towels or wash rags. You only get one pillow to split between two people. And to top all that the AC didn’t even work.
Wow…I don’t even know where to start. I know I can’t expect much from a super 8 and “You get what you pay for”… Except for the fact that you actually DON’T get what you pay for. I paid for a three night stay in a non-smoking room. Only to spend all three of the nights in a (very clearly) still smoking room. I was greeted with the intense smell of cigarette smoke and an ashtray on my bedside table just in case I changed my mind and decided to pursue my wildest dreams of being a smoker. It took 2 hours of air fresheners and the AC unit blowing at full capacity to make the place smell half way normal. When I brought it up to the front desk the following morning, the attendee said “sometimes they change it”, so I’m assuming what he meant by that was sometimes they change it back-and-forth between smoking and non-smoking? Which is probably the dumbestt thing I’ve ever heard…and I’m from Atlanta where dumb is a lifestyle so that is really saying something.
When I spoke to the manager the following night, and asked for either a discount on the amount I paid (non smoking is more money for some reason) or a different room, he not only didn’t do anything to help, he led with “your room is probably trashed, isn’t it?” And acted like it was truly a massive burden to be having this conversation. To which I responded… “I mean, I spent the night in there? If thats what you mean?”. What a weird thing to say to a customer? And this was the manager?? Also not to mention the process of renting this room was such a pain in the butt because they charged me twice and then denied the room and when I originally tried to call and get help about that, he (the same manager I spoke with in person) basically turned me away because he had “never heard of that happening ever.” This is coming from James who, again, is literally the manager. And when he heard I rented through Expedia, he basically got off the phone in 30 seconds because he “didn’t know how to deal with that and take it up with them, I ain’t got nuthin’ to do with that, buddy”. You should probably learn how to deal with that, James. You’re the manager. Also in that conversation, his exact words were unforgettable when I was getting frustrated….“this is not how I wanted to start my day”. Like…what?? That’s the point of being a manager, dude. To know how to help people who are renting a room and to have basic customer service communication skills. Neither of which you did.
Also: regarding cleanliness (besides the overpowering smell of cigarettes, cigarette burns in the comforter, mold in the bathroom, trash on the floor and weed smell) I spotted two friendly little 1 inch long roaches within an hour. Sleep with the lights on, folks. Or better yet… sleep literally anywhere else. Your car? A shelter you made in the woods? Your in-laws garage? An abandoned gas station, perhaps? Just pay the extra $50 and go to the next option up, please. Save yourself.
The staff is friendly the room for clean it was reasonably priced it was quiet would recommend and I will be a return customer
The room wasn’t clean! The sheets were soiled, the bed skirt had semen residue, the sink leaked so it was inoperable! It was an emergency stay for me, so I ended up sleeping in the chair in the room! It was awful!
Positive: Sheets were clean. It was quiet. Reasonable location Negative: Bathroom floor and tub dirty. Sink has burn and other stains. This bathroom needs a major refurb. No elevator to second floor makes luggage a real challenge. What passed for brunch didn't. Resisted giving us two keys because they were short. Negative: ""
It was a Friday before a big spring break week, we thought we would find a hotel on our way to Florida and just stop wherever we got tired. After passing Atlanta there were NO Marriots, Hilton, or even IHG properties until Ocala, FL. We were in a bind. After calling every hotel in the area we found availability at this super 8, although you had to book via a third party or in person. It was now past 11pm, and with a 4 and 6 year old, we decided we would just go and pay, it's just a place to stopover and sleep. ||||After paying I went to the room, kids still waiting in the van, on the way to the room the smell of cigarette smoke filled the nonsmoking hall. There were people lined up in the hallways on their cell phones, sitting on the floor, very bizarre and I did not feel safe. After entering the room and seeing the comforter covered in stains and the table had a sticky substance on it, I couldn't bring myself to stay here, I never even looked in the bathroom. I immediately turned around and went back to the lobby in tears. AJ was kind enough to advise he will provide a refund, thank you so much. We ended up driving all the way to Ocala, Florida that night, arrived after 3am. My suggestion to others is, you get what you pay for, I should have known for $91 what I was getting, but I learned my lesson and will not make that mistake again. I will book Marriott before I leave home, and pay the extra $100-$200 to get a safe, clean room.||||But I do appreciate AJ providing the refund.
It was Awesome Peaceful and Clean . Around and lot of Restaurants and Gas Stations ,Family Dollar etc||
First off, there was a guy passed out in the stairwell at the entrance we used. A bunch of guys in and out the other entrance just hanging out. Room furniture was in very bad shape. Bed was clean and comfortable. Breakfast consisted of coffee and assorted "Little Debbie" snacks in a bowl|The outside of the building looks nice, doesn't match the cheap, unkempt interior|
