Super 8 by Wyndham Springfield East - Hotel in Springfield - 1330 S Dirksen Pkwy, USA

My stay at super 8 was disgusting to say the least. Upon entering the room there were bugs on the wall, restrooms had not been cleaned, fecies in toilet, towels and light sockets dirty, clothing hangers on the floor, very foul odor in entire room. I went to open the window to get some fresh air and the window screen was hanging off. The comforter had numerous cigarette burns. I was threatened during checking that if I (I’m a non smoker) smoked in the room I would forfeit my $50 deposit. The carpet in the hall and the room were filthy paint splattered spider webs bugs and dirt. I have video footage. The smoke detector was completely missing and all that was left was the cover. I went down to the front desk and talked to the manager (Onion) and he said no other rooms were available. I requested a refund so I could go to another hotel but was told I couldn’t receive refund. I had no more money to go to another hotel. I thought about sleeping in my car but the police were on site and told me they advise I not do that due to the area not being safe. My husband was bitten several times while laying in the bed. I stayed up the entire night afraid and to disgusted to sleep. I shared with the manager I didn’t not want to get bitten or take bugs home with me. I have pictures and video evidence.

This was the only place left with rooms for the state fair. We stayed the days and there was a pungent outdoor of urine in the hallway outside our door. It was so bad we had to hold our breath between the elevator and our room. The cleaning staff woke us up the last day at 8am. Rude. The bathroom door wouldn't close because the door doesn't line up with the frame. The room itself want too bad if you like a hard bed with whimpy pillows. I do not recommend staying here.

So it's been almost a month since my attempted stay here. Upon arriving, quite a few people were lingering outside smoking pot and hanging around my vehicle. Get checked in while attendant was on the phone the whole time. Not even 30 minutes of getting to our room with only a bmx bike since we couldn't keep it locked outside, the attendant called and told me to keep my kids quite! (They were sitting on the beds on their phones) We decided due to the unsafe environment and the extremely rude attendant, we asked for a refund. He told me to go make the bed since my kids (12 and 14) were sitting on it. Then tried charging me $20 for it anyways. Tried bargaining with me and said half off the room. I declined. After arguing, he agreed to refund me. Called the next day to ensure the refund and they confirmed it. Been almost a month and no refund. Beware, this hotel is disgusting and very run down. The smell of pot lingered throughout the whole building and the people outside lingering weren't there for the right reasons as they were obviously on harder drugs. Currently waiting for customer care to follow up.

Stayed 5-6-24. Room was small. Room was not clean. Bathroom was dirty. Halls were so hot you could hardly breathe. Elevator sounded like it was on its last cable. The "working girls" in the halfway were polite. Pretty nasty... would not stay here again.

Positive: There is nothing good about the hotel. It was disgusting. The room had a rotten smell, odor and was Filthy. The bed was broken bed the sheets were dirty,carpet was sticky,it wasn't vacuummed. Bathroom had broken tub and was moldy. Negative: The breakfast was limited to only a couple options.it was a first floor room where the window didn't have a screen and was unlocked. A disgusting and very uncomfortable stay. The Dept of Health should be informed of the unsanitary conditions. Negative: ""

This hotel was an absolute dump, from pulling into the parking lot, entering the lobby, hallways, and the room was awful! A strong stench of marijuana just stepping inside the building and halls. Horrible smell of must/mold in room, floors so dirty my socks and feet turned black/grey! There was dirt all over the corners of the room and debris on the carpet, holes in the walls and door, and to top everything off, there was no hot or even warm water in the morning. I would NEVER stay here again, in the future it’s worth losing your money rather than staying. If it hadn’t been 11pm when I arrived with a work reservation through a travel agent, I wouldn’t have stayed. I thought it was weird that the document they make you sign said no refund if after the first 15 minutes in your room.

This hotel is dirty. Some of the linens were stained and there was an odor of mold in the room. The bathroom had mold in the shower and the shower bottom was stained. ( a little comet with bleach and scrubbing would take care if that) the toilet bowl was dirty and all it needed was a toilet scrubber to be taken to it. When using the elevator it was making a pulling noice which I felt was coming from the cables so I used the steps for the remainer of my stay, which had an odor of urine in the staircase. I do not recommend staying here. Dirty, Dirty, Dirty.

This place was awful!! It smelled of cigarettes and animal urine. The carpet was damp and sticky. The bed was uncomfortable and had the worst tiny little pillows. No coffee pot in the room as advertised. The road noise was terrible. Just an all around terrible place to stay. Don’t do it!!!!!!
