Super 8 by Wyndham Normal Bloomington - Hotel in Normal - 2 Traders Cir, USA

I would not recommend this hotel. My daughter and I stayed here, and neither of us are very picky people. But the hallways and room smelled very old and musty/smoky. There was very little security (you could walk right in the outer doors even late at night and there was a large gap at the bottom of the room doors), the decor was very dated, and the room did not seem very clean. We were close to the venue for the Special Olympics that we were attending, but we will definitely choose a different hotel next year!

Staff was very friendly and helpful, and the room was very clean. Overall not too much external noise apart from the occasional car or person. Restroom was very clean and sanitary, and there were no bug problems. This was one of the best motels we have stayed at.

The hotel charged me at 10 am before I even arrived, and still asked for a credit card. Room had window wide open and no a/c running (it's 90+ outside!) turned A/c on and took several hours before the room funally cooled. The carpet feels very gross, and the shower still had an empty shampoo bottle from probably the last guest.... personally didn't feel like this was worth the $106 I paid for 2 queen beds for 1 night. Outlet by the sink didn't work and could barely find any other outlets to use for charging.

Seemed like the staff cleaned well - but the place was extremely run down. Almost depressing. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s closed or remodeled next year since it feels like it’s 10 years overdue. Good location for the area. Lobby was baaad. 0 affect from the front person. Bed was comfortable. Chose not to shower. Left our socks on so we wouldn’t walk around in the carpet. Was bearable for one night. But would have left if it had been longer.

Easy to get to, food in walking distance. Comfy bed, Great price. Mold in restroom, edges of room have not been vacuumed in a very long time. Cigarette smell in certain areas.

Room was gross. Walls had boogers, dried tooth paste, looks like a little kid drew everywhere and no attempts were made to remove. Bed comfortable but unable to relax in it due to mysterious wall goo.

Hotel unilaterally changed our reservation from two double beds to a single king bed. We found out about this upon arrival. This was NOT what we wanted, but we were too tired from a long day of traveling to start searching again for another hotel. Also, ‘Continental Breakfast’ consisted solely of a bottle of apple juice and a granola bar.

I travel over 150 days a year for my job and stay exclusively in Wyndham properties, so I review each one. The parking lot was clean and well lit on arrival. Check in went smoothly. My room, a king handicap, was clean, with a comfortable bed/pillows but older fixtures. Room access is via an interior door. The hallways and room smelled great. WiFi speed was 8.9 megs down, 7.22 up via Ookla. All of the normal amenities were in place, such as the microwave, small refrigerator and single serve coffee maker. I didnt see a luggage cart. My digital AC/heater worked well. The television had a decent selection of channels but I couldn't adjust the tv to full screen picture. The breakfast area and lobby were very clean. No drink machines on any floor, only a fridge in the lobby with Coke, Sprite and water. There is no guest laundry, no fitness center or business center available. The only breakfast offered is juice and a granola bar. I've stayed here for work several times and it meets my needs, however other travelers may find the lack of amenities annoying.
