Super 8 by Wyndham Muscatine - Featured Reviews (375)
I am a senior woman traveling solo with a senior dog. I requested a first level room and was pleasantly surprised that the message was received. The motel was very clean. The room was in very poor condition. The light switches and electrical needed repairs. Water leaked from upstairs. Very uncomfortable stay.
Stayed 2 weeks here. The people were great , rooms very nice and clean. Housekeeping was wonderful. We will definitely stay here again when we come this way.
The hallway smells like either someone is making spaghetti in their room or it's really smelly socks, I can't decide. Maybe both. And the smell is really really strong. My dinner wanted to make an apearance. No elevators, creepy dark staircase.
I'm no shrinking violet, but I would feel nervous staying here as a single woman. Thankfully I have the hubby with me. Seems like the place of last resort.
As soon as I enter the room things improve a bit. The room is a place to sleep. Definitely no frills. It's old and worn, but clean. The sheets look clean. A/C was consistent. There is a microwave & fridge, sitting alone, stacked on top of eachother. Carpet had lots of dirty spots, I never walked barefoot. You have to hold the handle down on the toilet to make it flush. It looked like it was about to fall apart, but again, thankfully it was clean. I didn't use the shower, but it had plastic pealing off...
I've rolled the dice on other Super 8's in the past, and some are ok, some are not. This falls in the "not" category. Even though the room seems clean (thank goodness), the rooms are surprisingly pricey, around $140 for the cheapest one, the night we needed a place. If I had walked into a dirty room, I would have walked right back out. So kudos to whoever cleans up.
Book the Best Western next door, it looked leaps and bounds better than this place. Also a Comfort Inn nearby looked nicer. They were all considerably more expensive the night I needed. I survived. But I'll pony up the extra cash for a different place next time.
The only pic I managed to take is the one asking for a good review with the bribe of chips! This place is, 'all that' and forget the chips 😂
Dirty, musty smelling, Key card shuts off at 11 and checkout was at noon, so while talking my luggage down in two trips I was locked out of my room at 11:15. Not one thing in the vending machine. Gave me 2nd floor room when I had alot to carry and no elevator!
$125.00 for one night in this hotel was a complete waste of money.
Great location with shopping area surrounded with staff that are accommodating. On the other hand, sanitation is a concern, towers that were supplied had stain even down to the bed sheets and pillowcases.
Advertising is not correct. The pool is in maintenance. The value is definitely not worth the price. I'm glad they cancelled my reservation and didn't charge me!
I arrived late and they got me a room after 150 miles on my bicycle, clean very staff, good continental breakfast, doing ride across America! Iowa is very limited to Motels throughout the STATE,thank You to large citys
Nastiest hotel I've ever been too. Bathrooms have mold had to change rooms three times and would've gone somewhere else sadly nothing else was affordable. The second room I woke up to a mouse crawling on me in my sleep and was refused a refund and instead issued a new room. I wouldn't ever go back if I'm being honest. Also the bathrooms are gross. The bathtub shower combos have more bondo/caulk than tub I honestly thought I might fall through and the hot water varies either unbearably hot or just luke warm
10/10 breakfast every single time! I've tried a lot off the menu, but man, that Philly Cheesesteak Skillet (pictured) is my favorite! Locally owned by Boni & Marcella and their fantastic team. You've got to get a homemade soup as well-the best! Stop
This is a wonderfully preserved old mill that still has many of it's original tools and features on display. We've been to several old mills, but none with as much of the mill processing tools still intact.
Additionally there was an engagement area
Delicious and friendly! Excellent sandwiches, muffin and cappuccino to-go! You can tell each ingredient is thoughtfully incorporated into its dish. Down to the wheat berry bread they use for their sandwiches, yum!
