Super 8 by Wyndham Mitchell - Hotel in Mitchell - 1700 S Burr St, USA

Positive: The night clerk was very helpful. We originally got into a room, but it didn't have a microwave. So she did move us to another room with one. Then the TV wasn't working, so she came up & fixed it! Negative: They DID NOT have a hot tub/whirlpool as listed. That was the main reason for booking the hotel. Their housekeeping staff didn't come in & clean the room Saturday (stayed Fri-Sun), so I had to go to the front desk to get fresh towels.

Positive: Location and lighting. At the price point for a nights sleep it was fine, would I do a family vacation here? No. Group motorcycle trip was fine. Negative: Property definitely old and needs updating. Found it odd that rooms had no landline phones.

Positive: The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The elevator ran very smoothly. Negative: When one walked into the room, the lights could not be turned on unless you walked about a third of the way into the room. I did not like the ice container and paper cups in the bathroom on the sink. The stool is right next to the sink.

I'm OK with the overall experience, you get what you pay for. The room and dining room were clean which is a good start, however the rest of the hotel is in a really poor condition. It was good for the price, in the end we only needed to rest to continue our moving travel to the west coast, and we even had a breakfast in the morning for a party of 3, which is also a very good thing to consider. I'll certainly book again when in need / low budget conditions, but hopefully the hotel won't be in that abandoned state, we had to turn off the A/C because it was very noisy; thanks to God we didn't need it. The hotel is also pet friendly.

Many bugs in the room alive and dead. My daughter didn't even want to sleep in the room. We were passing through on a medical trip. Staff were very pleasant. The floor in the bathtub was super slick. Had to hold on to rail and wall just to get in and move around in it. Pretty disappointed in this hotel. Glad we ended up canceling our other 4 nights.

If you are looking for a cheap place to sleep and hit the road this will do. Beds were comfortable and clean. Shower and towels were also clean. However that's about it. No microwave in the room. The hallways were nasty and in desperate need of vacuuming, including the stairs. Bathroom floor could use a little bleach and mopping. Several dark areas that need light bulbs or some kind of lighting. If you are under contract with an exterminator I would suggest you not renew and shop around for a new one. There was a lingering odor, not sure what it was. To leave on a positive note, check in was quick and noise level was low. I was able to sleep okay.

Everything was great. Room was very clean. Staff was very helpful. Dated facility but very clean and comfortable. Can't complain. The breakfast could use some work. I will stay here again.

I liked the location of this motel, but it was in very rundown condition. They vacuum the hallways at 8 am, bumping into your door, told the girl vacuuming she's very lucky I was already awake, because I would be very angry to be rudely woken up on your vacation! No breakfast was served due to renovations apparently, and rooms were in rundown condition as well, especially the shower!
