Super 8 by Wyndham Mahwah - Hotel in Mahwah - 160 NJ-17 South, USA

Location is great! You can walk to McDonald’s (2mins walk if you’re starving). Easy access to highway. 1st day as soon as I walked into the door I looked into the bathroom and saw a roach under the sink!!!! The next day I changed my room to a queen and it was better. I only stayed because I had already pay for the room-it was nonrefundable.

We went there for 1 night only (stop during our road trip). It was OK. The sheet was dirty, at least the rest of the bed was correct. No bugs, and for the pretty low price we paid, it’s a good hotel to stop to. The breakfast was the bare minimum, so dont have too big expectations. Overall, I would recommend for someone who stay just 1 night and want to be economic.

It is with great pleasure that I express my extraordinary experience as a guest at the SUPER 8 HOTEL by Wyndham located in Mahwah NJ. I stayed with my son during an extended stay visit in the month of June 2024. On behalf of all the fortunate guests to have the wonderful opportunity to stay at this hotel, I am compelled to say thank you so very much for all of the beautiful hospitality. We truly appreciated the incredible, and phenomenal care, the stellar treatment and lovely accommodations!||We give a very special thanks to the manager by the name of John. We consider him to be an exceptional supervisor who treated us like we were royalty during our entire stay at the hotel. He administered perfection with a smile as he showcased his remarkable services. He was extremely cordial, accommodating, and professional at all times. We felt that it was his delight to satisfy us to fulfill our desires as well as to appease our requests proficiently. We actually found his character to be most commendable!||The staff member named Dedrick also provided to us a series of excellent, and efficient information as specific technical care essentials concerning detailed requirements to meet our needs. He also added courteous, and contagious smiles to communicate his skillful expertise for us to comprehend as the guests. We found his personality to be patience, effective and admirable!||Starting at the very beginning of our stay, it became quite clear that both John, and Dedrick went over and beyond the call of duty with their due diligence to accommodate us. They pleased us no matter what the circumstance was at hand, which ultimately led to making our stay amazing to say the least!||Regarding the housekeeping staff:|The entire housekeeping staff was thoughtful, and kind during our periodic conversations, and encounters. They kept our room white clove clean, and spotless as a high-quality professional standard. They revealed competence on a daily basis as they vacuumed the carpet in our room, along with the hallways. They consistently cleaned the elevator and removed the garbage from the building on a structured schedule.||Whenever we took care of our business periodically at the concierge desk, we observed that the entire hotel staff, starting with the receptionists, and including housekeeping, also extended professional courtesies to all of the other guests, and individuals in our presence.||We are leaving the hotel tomorrow, and as we reflect on our stay at the SUPER 8 HOTEL, we are extremely happy, and feel privileged that we were quests at this marvelous hotel.||Therefore, we highly recommend anyone who is seeking a hotel reservation to stay in Mahwah New Jersey to stay at the SUPER 8 HOTEL by Wyndham. I booked a queen room in late afternoon and arrived being notified that they had only one room left, that is the accessible room (for disabled person) right behind the counter—well, it looks rudimentary compared to the gorgeous photos advertised on-line—they did have a little disabled facilities like a chair and rail beside the toilette, which I don’t need but just observed, but the problem is that the room is right facing the busiest area of the hotel,i.e., the main storage, the food/coffee bar, and the staffers’ gathering place, so it was quite noisy. Folks at the front desk were nice though. Though I don’t think it was worth the $110 I paid, to round factors up, I gave four stars.

Positive: The staff was great Negative: There were MANY listed amenities that were not included. No continental breakfast, I had to ask for a microwave which is listed as included, there was no fridge. There were more but I don?t remember. This made my trip VERY inconvenient as I needed those.

If you can avoid it, don’t stay here. The only thing good was the desk attendant was friendly when we got here late. The place smells. The carpet was all buckled and the bedspread had a hole in it. Trying to get something to eat for breakfast was a farce. Ice machine was broken; washing machine was out of order. The juice machine was out of order. A mistake to stay here but had car trouble and it was close.

My stay at the Super 8 hotel in Mahwah, NJ, was unfortunately far from pleasant. Upon checking in, the overpowering smell of cigarettes permeated the lobby, setting a disappointing tone for the rest of my experience. After being handed the key, we were directed to drive around back, where we encountered a disconcerting scene – a staff member who appeared to be under the influence of drugs and a man changing his brakes in the parking lot. Navigating through a stairwell that reeked of vomit, we finally reached our room, only to be greeted by the lingering stench of cigarettes. Despite the listing stating the presence of a refrigerator, there was none, leaving us with no place to store our baby's drinks and food. However, the absence of a refrigerator was the least of our concerns. Upon further inspection, we discovered cockroaches infesting every corner of the room, even in the air conditioning unit. My wife was horrified, refusing to put our children down. The sheets were adorned with long black hairs and wrinkles, suggesting someone had already occupied the bed. A closer examination revealed stains from bed bugs on the mattress, prompting us to immediately request a refund at the front desk. To our dismay, the staff seemed indifferent to our concerns, with the receptionist nonchalantly sitting behind the counter with a can of Raid. We were instructed to call a number to address the issue, which only added to our frustration. As we prepared to leave, a man with a missing leg rolled in on a wheelchair and decided to nap in front of our car, further delaying our departure. In stark contrast, our subsequent stay at the Holiday Inn up the road was a breath of fresh air. Clean facilities and friendly staff made all the difference, reaffirming our decision to avoid Wyndham Super 8 in Mahwah at all costs. I urge others to heed this warning and choose alternative accommodations, as no traveler should endure such a disappointing experience. It's a topic of conversation that we can't help but share with friends and family, emphasizing the importance of choosing the right place to stay during our travels.

Sur le site d’Expedia, on dit que cet établissement accueille les animaux. Malheureusement, à notre arrivée, une affiche indiquait plutôt que les chiens sont interdits! L’employé n’a pas voulu faire d’exception et nous avons dû nous résoudre à laisser notre chien dans la voiture (mon conjoint a même passé une partie de la nuit avec lui dans la voiture!). Ce fut une très mauvaise surprise pour nous, puisque nous avions choisi cet hôtel en fonction de l’affichage d’Expedia.||Côté propreté, une chaise dans la chambre avait des taches blanches douteuses, le tapis était brûlé à plusieurs endroits, le miroir était fendu, l’évier était craqué et le matelas près de la fenêtre dégageait une très mauvaise odeur! J’ai trouvé une serviette pliée avec un restant de maquillage dessus…||Puisque l’hôtel est situé à côté de l’autoroute, on entendait fortement le bruit des voitures pendant la nuit.||Aussi, un supposé déjeuner, avec seulement des bagels (avec rien à mettre dessus!) et des clémentines était offert. ||Nous étions situés dans la chambre 134, à la fin du couloir.||Pour le prix payé, je m’attendais à beaucoup plus ! Vraiment, vraiment déçue!
