The property is old and worn, but the rooms are spacious. The neighborhood is slightly seedy. However, there is a Target nearby that we walked to every night. We passed by some homeless, but they were no trouble. We admired the staff of the hotel for getting out every morning and cleaning up any mess left in the night. There was a parking lot -- rah -- which the hotel watched with a security cam. The property could use some repairs (new blackout curtain, buttons that lit on the elevator) but all in all was a convenient place for us. The elevator was very secure, as you had to use your key card. I gave caveats above so people will be aware, but all in all, it was convenient and decent.

Honestly, it's not a bad place to stay if you're not staying long term or, as was our case, need to be in a specific area of the city. There's a really nice Target across the street, and I didn't feel unsafe walking around. We had a 4th floor room, and the view was lovely! There are a few homeless who skulk around the area, but it IS California. We couldn't hear much street traffic from inside the room, and there's evidently a club next door that we didn't know about until we walked by it on our way back into the hotel on our second night there. The room was small, but clean, and had a coffee maker and refrigerator that worked rather nicely. Bathroom probably needs an update, or maybe even a REALLY good deep clean, but it was otherwise fine, I didn't feel gross using it. They do need to hand out more towels, though, we ran out on our final day. We didn't use the free breakfast, but it did smell wonderful. Biggest con of the whole place would have to be that GOD AWFUL parking lot. It's small, difficult to get into and out of, and since evidently no one in California can park (this seems to be a state-wide issue, as we ran into problems in Sacramento, too), it's very hard to maneuver. Twice, my partner had to get out of the car and physically guide me out of the parking lot so I didn't hit anyone else parked there; everyone just seems to park wherever the hell they want without fear of consequence. However, I do drive a rather nice, newer car, and I didn't feel unsafe or uncomfortable leaving it there overnight. The parking lot is watched by cameras, and despite the homeless wandering around, no one but employees and hotel guests looked to be going into the lot. I kept an eye out (I'm SUPER protective of my car), and never once caught sight of anything suspicious there. All in all, 3 out of 5, amazingly average experience (aside from that parking lot, that place is hell). I'd recommend this hotel to anyone who needs a decently located, nicely priced room for a few nights.

You get what you pay for here. The location is convenient enough for Hollywood or a quick drive to Downtown LA. My girlfriend and I were on a short trip here, and upon arrival we immediately became aware that the location doesn’t feel perfectly safe. We had to navigate the local homeless population when arriving and leaving. As well, when we initially walked into the small lobby, a couple was very rudely berating the clerk about their deposit using vague threats and cursing heavily. None of this is meant to disparage the hotel itself, but it may say something about the price and location. The room, while small, was clean and air-conditioned. Lighting was poor. The elevator was out of service and we were on the 4th floor, so we had a minor inconvenience there. I’ll say if you’re a solo traveler, this is an OK stop for a night or so. I wouldn’t subject anyone else again.

I have stayed here 3 times this year.|The rooms are very clean and the towels fluffy.|Beds are comfortable. Coffee and refrigerator in the room, but no microwave.|You are invited to use the microwave in the breakfast area, but very inconvenient.|The free breakfast is typical of many, starch only (bread and pastries) no protein.|The staff is always courteous and helpful, and when I asked the maid for an extra coffee, she happily gave me two! |The first two times I stayed there there was a large homeless encampment across the street at the WSS shoe store. |When I stayed here last week, the homeless camp was gone and a fence had been put up to keep them out. |The neighborhood is slowly gentrifying. |Leo's Tacos across the street is always busy. |Stop there for a taco and you will see why.

I was pleasantly surprised with the hotel. I start all hotel ratings at 3 stars. Then, add and subtract stars as needed. The front desk staff was very helpful, plus one star. The room was about as expected. The location was alright. There are lots of homeless people nearby, but it's hard to find a place without them now.

The hotel is in a nice location but other than that rooms are not that clean. The staff is accommodating but not professional enough. There is a lot of homeless people on the streets near the hotel so it’s not family friendly. You should only stay here if you are a solo traveler and are on a budget.

Just horrible experience! Horrible customer service. Rude people at the front desk. Definitely smells as soon as you walk in. Chairs and tables flipped like they're closed, but they're not. The entire area is sketchy. Hefty deposit. No visitors allowed. They even will lie and say they have no rooms available, just because of how you look. I saw it with my own eyes. That's crazy! I do NOT recommend staying here at all.

Well positioned (close to metro A line station western Hollywood) The hotel itself is shabby. you walk by stairs and it is cracking. Just somebody heavier and it will fall part. It is an insolence to charge these rates for this kind of property
