Super 8 by Wyndham East Moline - Hotel in East Moline - 2201 John Deere Rd, USA

There is sketchy and then there's this place. I'm from the southside of Chicago, I know sketchy. It should be condemned. I had the misfortune of staying here Saturday night as I was in town on a trip. Walking into the lobby you are greeted by a nauseating stench. A quick survey of the room and you spot an upholstered chair that may be the culprit. It looks like someone mistook it for a toilet. Nice. See attached pic. Head to the hallway, hallelujah, away from the stench. Only to be greeted with a different stench. The smell of an old vacuum bag came to mind. Make our way to our room. Surprise surprise, another stench. Indiscernible. Kind of just general filth and old cigarettes. EVERY single linen had either cigarette burns, unknown stains, or a combination of both. See pics. The carpet was dirty and stained and the tile was so sticky we stuck to it walking through. We put all of our bags on the desk so nothing but our shoes had to touch the floors. While laying in bed I decided to read the reviews, probably should have done that before we got there. I saw plenty of stories of bed bugs and roaches. While I was fortunate enough to not see any myself I do not doubt one bit that they are there. That thought made it super fun to try to fall asleep though. I decided to skip my morning coffee as the coffee maker looks as though it hasn't been cleaned since the Reagan administration. See pic. Overall, I give this place - 2 stars. Dirty, smelly, sketchy, buggy. I would avoid this place at all costs. If you're in the area, there's a lovely cemetery across the street you could sleep in instead. Probably cleaner and less bugs.

We reserved a room with a hot tub....at check in they claimed to not know anything about it. After seeing the room....I wouldn't have gotten in it. The staff is extremely lazy....unhelpful and unfriendly....they made me pay $100 deposit....but never went and checked my room. (Didn't want to get off the chair) The Comfort Inn & Suites right behind Super 8 is clean and friendly....they have a full hot breakfast and an indoor heated pool. The cost is the same...I nor my family....will ever stay at this location again. They need to SHUT IT DOWN!!!

I had a thorough review with pictures here from about 3 years ago. What is going on? DO NOT TRUST ANY GOOD PICTURES OF THIS PLACE. This was such a bad experience I needed a hotel for trade school for a week. I was late to getting reimbursed the first night already. It is shady. The first floor windows had pots and pans and other things cluttered as though people lived there for LONG periods of time.

The help desk was nice. The place stinks really bad in the hallways. The carpets are old and nasty and full of stains/holes. The room itself was not horrible. The juice machine during breakfast was broken so that was annoying. Our lock on the door was broken so yeah it was just a run down place that to be honest, I feel we paid way too much for.

WORST PLACE TO STAY. AVOID IT AT ALL COST!!!! Check in was fine, all we really needed was a place to put our heads down at night. We booked it for 3 nights. The first night was fine, however, on the second night, we weren’t so lucky. As we were getting ready to lay down and go to sleep, Bed bugs caught my eye. I immediately turned on my flash lights and saw it crawling EVERYWHERE… immediately took our clothes and blankets to the dryer… of course both of it was in use. Walked to the front desk, and was told I had to wait, which was understandable, went back to the room and immediately looked for another laundromat while my fiancé called the front desk and told them about the situation… THEY WERE DISMISSIVE. NO APOLOGIES!!! Front desk called and asked if we’re the one waiting for the dryer, I said yes. The guy was like, oh, ok. I will remove what’s inside the dryer because it was blankets and sheets from the property. We IMMEDIATELY TOOK ALL OF OUR BELONGINGS AND PUT THEM IN GARBAGE BAGS AND LEFT! Luckily, we were able to find another place in a short NOTICE cause we had our 8 months old son with us who was screaming his heads off due to over tiredness with a sleepy mama. Thank God our next hotel was about 45 mins away, closer to my step son house. We called SUPER 8 the next day explaining the situation, the front desk was like, I’m not the manager, you will have to call back. So we did that night. The manager called us LIARS… told us based on their records, we stayed for all three nights. We sent them a receipt showing that we did not. However, because we booked it through EXPEDIA. We also contacted them and sending them the same information… they told us that they believed the site and that we did stay for three days!!!! Never use EXPEDIA… and NEVER STAY AT THIS LOCATION…

Positive: They were kind enough to accommodate us by moving us into different rooms because of a non working fridge and the people upstairs Negative: Called before booking and said they didn?t need a deposit, just to find out they did when we got there, so had us driving around for an hour going from ATM to ATM.

Positive: "" Negative: It was very dirty in the lobby, on the steps, and in the room. Bed spread had a hole in it. The room smelled like cigarette smoke.

Handicap parking was not available. There was a car parked in the handicap spot with no handicap tags. The ramps were unable to be gotten to because of cars parked in front of them room was not serviced for eight days during my 11 days stay out of towels, toilet paper, and garbage piled in my room because of no service.
