Super 8 by Wyndham Canon City - Featured Reviews (410)
Fairly easy check-in. Upon entering the building, we noticed the heat, and our room was worse. The air was completely off, and the room was scorching. We did inform the clerk, and he said it was just hot on that side of the building. 🤦♀️ We had to go outside for an hour to allow the room to cool. We hoped for a relaxing evening watching TV with our feet up after a day of travel. The room had cooled to tolerable, but the TV only worked sporadically. It would randomly shut off. We informed the clerk the next morning, but he had very limited English. Very disappointing Wyndym.
Not gonna lie: it's not super luxurious, but it's clean and quiet. The front staff is always super nice, and the breakfast is pretty basic but good and filling. The fact that breakfast is included makes this place a bargain in Canon City, and my stays have always been totally pleasant. The "clean and quiet" part is paramount for me, and these guys never disappoint. Highly recommend!
Front desk staff was incredibly helpful and patient. Great hospitality. This is one of the only places i have actually felt comfortable sleeping in the bed. Perfect AC and space. Only downside is the smell. Bathroom smelled horrible but was visually clean. Room had weird odor like leftover cigars smoke but the rooms are non smoking.
Not sure how this Super 8 has a 3.6 Google rating, I think sleeping in my car would have been better. We booked here due to the price and location, but will do better research in the future.
The entire property is dated, dirty and run down, including the parking lot, the lobby, the hallway and room. Upon arrival I immediately wished I could have cancelled my reservation. The area is sketchy and there are people living in their cars in the parking lot. The lobby smells strongly of curry. There was no one at the front desk, so we rang the bell and a woman with her baby in a stroller appeared and checked us in. This place looks like it’s falling apart. The first-floor hallway has a leaking pipe from the ceiling. You have to shimmy around the garbage can placed below to collect the dripping water.
The room is dated, there is no fridge, and the door didn’t always close securely. The wash cloth I used appeared to be dirty or stained, the bedding looked worn, dirty and had holes. There was a French fry left behind from previous guests, so rooms aren’t cleaned very well. The shower drain is extremely slow. Because of the condition of the property, we decided not to have the free breakfast. I’m thankful we only stayed one night. I wish I took pictures to show how gross it was. You’ve been warned.
I have no idea how this place has a 4.5 star rating. First, my boyfriend arrived 20 min before me and although his name was not on ANYTHING they gave him the room keys. All he had to give them was my name. He don't even have to give my license plate number. They had nothing other than his word that he was affiliated with me. In fact, I never had to check in with the front desk at all. As a woman, this is terrifying. Then bedding was soiled when we checked in. There were bugs along the wall in the bathroom. There was a poop stain (I hope that's what it was) on the ceiling. There was no water pressure in the shower at all. I had to practically run circles under the show to get wet. They gave us 2 towels for 2 adults and then charged $3 for each additional towel. I'm diabetic and there included breakfast (the main factor for me booking the room) did not include anything I could eat. It was literally all carbs and sugar! No eggs. No meats. It was waffles, sugar coated cereal, toast, bagels, chocolate muffins, yogurt which included 40g sugar each, and bananas (high on the glycemic index). So after booking this specific hotel for the included breakfast, I had to go buy breakfast anyway. But wait, there's more! When I complained about them giving my hotel key to a man without calling to notify me or making him wait until I got there....the staff didn't even speak English! Oh and the A/C didn't work because they apparently never clean the filters for it.
The room was pretty nice. The outside of the motel was sparse. We suggest chairs around the outside of the building, so people can move to the shade out of the hot sun. The continental breakfast wasn't good for me because of it's all carbs.
I don't know who is giving this place 4-5 stars but their standards have got to be lower than even mine and I have very low expectations.
The room and bed was dirty when we walked in. There was bugs along the edges of the walls and what appeared to be a poop stain (could have been blood for all I know) across the ceiling.
The girl that checked me in was super friendly although her English wasn't great, the guy that worked the front counter was kind of creepy.
I rolled in on a motorcycle during a rain storm. I was soaked head to toe. I wanted an extra towel or two and was promptly informed extra towels are $3/each (which is posted on the wall in a very nasty way). The room comes with 2 towels.
The included breakfast does not contain any proteins so if you're diabetic, don't rely on their breakfast for anything useful. There is a sign on the wall requesting you not take food to your room and the creepy manager watched everyone eat from a table just outside of the dining area.
The parking lot is full of knee high weeds making this unkept property look even worse.
The air condition in the room was loud and didn't work well. In the morning, after a poor night sleep because I was hot, I pulled the filter from the air conditioner and found out why it didn't work. I've attached a picture of the filter (it's supposed to be mostly see through).
The bathroom fan was loud and caused the lighting to flicker bright to dim, I was kind of concerned I'd be showering in the dark. Speaking of the shower, the rain had more pressure than the shower!
For the price and reviews I had much higher expectations. This should be a $45/night motel not $100.
This is the best super 8 I’ve ever been. I am amazed at the cleanliness of the room and the service. A wonderful family from Nepal owns this Super 8, and they literally work 24 hours a day. I enthusiastically recommend this location.
I stay here about 4 or 5 times per year because I stay exclusively at Hilton properties. My colleagues stay in springs because they don't like this location. They think I'm crazy for staying there but it's very convenient. Now this stay there were n

Great 1.5 mile hike on the Royal Gorge Overlook Loop with just as good of views of the Royal Gorge as the park without the cost. The most scenic hike I've been on.
