Sunset Inn - Motel in Collierville - 154 US-72, USA

I regret patronizing this place. The horrible smell of the room when I opened the door was the first red flag 🚩. The filthy bedspread, the filthy bedsheets and the filthy flimsy pillows was the second red flag 🚩. The filthy towels in the bathroom was the third 🚩. Hoodrats occupany in many of the rooms was the fourth 🚩. I didn’t even have the nerve to open the refrigerator nor the microwave. And then the MAJOR red flag 🚩 was the presence of marijuana. Of course there was marijuana! Wherever there’s hoodrats, marijuana is not far behind 🤷🏽‍♀️. Hoodrats and drugs usually go hand-and-hand. Marijuana odor saturated my room from the hoodrats obviously smoking marijuana for HOURS (despite the room being non-smoking 😡) and that odor made me so sick. I opted to sleep with my own towel and my own blanket pulled over my head. Calling the front office to complain about the drug use did absolutely no good because the older foreign woman who answered the phone seemed unconcerned and she and a younger foreign employee of the motel later lied and literally “played in my face” by defending the drug using hoodrat culprits and telling me that the marijuana odor had to have been coming from outside 😒🙄 despite me repeatedly telling them that the marijuana odor had clearly started coming from the bathroom area (which is wall-to-wall to the next room), then the marijuana odor saturated my entire room and I never smelled that marijuana odor outside. I can’t stand a liar and lying business persons who accommodates and defends hoodrats and illegal drug use is so disgusting and not a good representation of such a beautiful community as Collierville. And the nerve of this business having a sign that reads “No refunds” implies that many people have probably demanded their money back after experiencing the same horrible conditions at this “hoodrat motel” as I did and this motel should be closed down.

Rooms are smallish, clean, and a tad dated, but for the price it's a decent deal. Bathrooms are tiny, but the showers have great water pressure. Wifi leaves much to be desired but if all you want is a bed to sleep in for the night it's up your alley. I did not see a single bug or roach the entire time I was here.

I hate this hostel they aren't worth the money at all. $70 plus $5 if u bring the key back. I am a grown woman and doing check in the lady look at me and she said no visitor. If u have paid your money she can't tell u who can stop by. Wifi don't work good at all u will get a much better deal in Memphis and that smell I wanted my money back but they had signs everywhere no returns and no pets. But we heard a dog last night. My very last stay at the place.

They are rude, they tried to put me in a room where the shower didn't work. Refused to move me. After I asked for a room with a working shower they tried to charge me double for another room. Then lied like they had no rooms available but only had 1 car in the parking lot. After paying 78 bucks for attitude and a messed up room, I will never in life go there again.

At first was in non smoking room buetiful nice fluffy bed ,smelt good ,new appliances good strong shower not even 30 minutes maintenance comes in to spray for bugs!?? Wtheck! Then we moved to smoking room. WHAT! A FREAKING! DIFFERENCE! bed is hard as a rock! appliances are old. The shower was ok at first then came to a barely dribble I couldn't rinse my hair! I had to go out with shampoo in my hair to get the manager at least get the dribble back then it got cold. The guy in the the front tried to tell me all the rooms showers are the same ??? I just came out of the other rooms it's not the same.Had to see the manager again cause only spanish channels were on!. I really starting to feel discriminated against can't figure out why? We are a biracial couple. And we can't have our dog in the parking lot?? No pets allowed not even on the property. The safety lock on the door does not work

Honestly worst motel room I’ve ever stayed in. dirty walls and carpet, curtain rod falling off the wall, cigarette burns in the sheets (in a NON-smoking room) and worst of all, stains and hairs in the bed sheets. I didn’t even feel comfortable showering here, it was so grimey and I couldn’t guarantee the towels were clean. if you want to sleep in a bed that may not have been cleaned since the last guest, go ahead and stay here. Otherwise, avoid like the plague.

I have a idea, demolish this place and replace it with a gas station because this hotel looks doesn’t look appealing

The weekly rate is 335. The nightly is like 60. Rooms are tiny and disgusting. Owners are grade a assholes.. they illegally charged my credit card because I checked out at 12p instead of 11a, even though there hadn't been a call or warning about check out time. The showers do have great water pressure though, if water pressure is a big deal to you.
