Run!!! This place was nasty, full of bugs in the bathroom & furniture looked liked they cleaned some & left some undone. Neighborhood is a little sketchy. No one at the desk from midnight until 10 a.m. that's pretty late in the morning. No coffee, no breakfast. Booked for 3 nights and left a note on the 1st night that we left. This place should be shut down. Dark, dingy hallway.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. I’ve stayed here a few times and the staff are friendly and helpful beyond what you’d expect from any hotel/motel experience. It’s one of the cheapest options in South Carolina so yeah - stuff is dated and there’s some rough edges but again - this is one of the cheapest places to stay in the ENTIRE STATE and it is safe, clean, and the staff genuinely looks out for people. I’ve never experienced bedbugs and I’ve stayed in several rooms here and I’m really sensitive to bed bug bites I couldn’t stay here if they were present. Some reviewers are looking for champagne experiences at Kool aid prices, their disappointment isn’t this places’ fault.

I stayed here overnight on a trip with friends, and shared a room with the double-bed. No significant problems, and we got a decent night's sleep. The room we were in looked like it was recently renovated, and was fairly clean.||||The room had a TV, mini-fridge, microwave, and an iron. There is free wi-fi in the motel, but it was very weak, almost unusable in the room we were in.||||The room was laid out nicely, it had a table and work-space for 2 people. Oddly enough, it didn't have a bathroom door, which we managed. Bring your own shampoo, they don't supply that.||||Because of the renovations, this was a decent deal, at $38.50 plus tax, on a Friday. Prices could be more during the summer season, so you might want to check before booking,.

A place I would like to avoid returning to. On the plus side, we had no unfortunate incidents with insects which can be problematic in places like this. However, the hall and room had a very strong scent, perhaps incense residue covering something worse. Took hours for the air conditioning to clear it out, but people with less allergies or sensitivity to smell may not see this as a deal breaker. My main issue was the cleanliness. Certain parts of the room looked as though they hadn't been cleaned in weeks. The pillows on one bed were also dirty, which did not inspire confidence for the rest of the linens. It's possible we were just unlucky as the place was probably busy with hurricane evacuees (us included), but I see no reason to go back. If you do go though, be sure to make use of the corkscrew on the back of the bathroom door. Surely that can only be a good thing.

Our stay started off good until it was bed time. While laying in the dark,my kids complained of getting bit. We turned the light on and found 3 bed bugs. Trapped them in a cup and sat on dresser plus took pictures. Couldn't get it touch with front desk so we left ,when I called next morning the rude lady called me a liar and denied a refund

This hotel needs renovations badly. A maintenance worker could repair small things such as light switches, etc. I feel that a manager, supervisor or employee should be on duty at all times just in case their is a problem. I would never stay at this hotel again. The location is terrible and the grass needs to be cut. The road to travel to the hotel needs to be repaved. I wanted to express my dissatisfication of the hotel after checking out and was told there was nobody available to speak to me. The hotel signs says that the hotel is under new management and hs newly renovated rooms. I was told that the same managers own the hotel and the rooms seem like they were built in the 1970s. The sign is misleading. Upkeep of the lawn is definitely needed. My refridgerator had mold in it. It was probably due to unplugging it to preserve energy. The sheets had stains in them looked like blood stains and the holes in the sheets were stitched. My towels also had a hole in it. I WOULD NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN OR RECOMMEND ANY ELSE TO.

Evacuated from Florida because of Irma, stopped here for a few hours to rest. They close at midnight, but stayed open a little longer to get us checked in. Sweet people, clean rooms. Good price. Wonderful little place. And the beds we're so comfy!!

Positives: Great value, friendly staff, clean, spacious rooms. Negatives: Tawdry physical condition, limited amenities, front desk closes at midnight. Really cool dude at check in. The place looks sketchy, but get over yourself and enjoy the 60s vintage styling. The price can't be beat, and if what you want is a place to get some sleep before continuing on your journey, look no further. The staff was super friendly and helpful, making sure we were satisfied with our room, providing extra blankets and advice on where to get breakfast. Yes, breakfast is not included, but there is a pool. This place was originally a Howard Johnsons, and if the carpet staining is any indication, it hasn't been refreshed in quite a while. The money saved in updating the facilities is reflected in the economical pricing. By modern standards, the rooms are large, and though simple, the beds are comfy. An old-style, non flat screen TV has many cable channels. Watch 70s and 80s re-runs as originally experienced. For your reading pleasure, both a bible and Bhagavad Gita are provided.
