Sunset Inn & Suites - Motel in Fredericksburg - 900 S Adams St, USA

An older Hotel that was clean for the most part but parking is very poor, there are no working ice or vending machines so we were told to walk to the neighboring hotel for ice or vending. There are no hotel staff on site before 3:00 or after 9:00 including the office. They wouldn't give us fresh towels per the manager unless we let them clean the entire room. We only wanted to exchange our towels as we were there 3 days. Our TV remote wouldn't work properly and we were told it's because they are older and there wasn't anything they could do. Also the pool is hard to get to and only open from 3:00 to 9:00 during the time most people are touring the town. We go annually and won't be staying here again.

They discriminate against disabled folks. Joyce, the manager, refused to book us due to having a service animal. She tried sending us to the dirtier motel next door. It's not a pet, Joyce. It's a service animal. Not ADA compliant. We didn't argue with her or try to explain the laws she should be aware of. We just walked out. If you have this experience here, please report it so that they learn what is legal and what is not.

Quaint little place. Cozy and quiet. Easy to get anywhere off note in 15 to 20 minutes. Kris (sp) is super sweet and ready to give information about local attractions. Very reasonably priced. I certainly recommend staying at the Sunset.

Third time staying here while visiting, one of the pervious times we have stayed here we arrived after office hours but they had already scheduled a key drop for us. I believe this was the second time we stayed in 2023 so during the fall. Well we were starting the 4 hour drive after I got off work and I called to schedule a key drop. Well come to find out they changed their policy because of an “incident that happened at another business in town” and don’t offer the key drop anymore. You would think they would send a message about a recent change of policy whenever they get a new policy. But to add onto all of that, the lady who informed me of this was very annoyed that she would have to meet us down there at 10:40. When we got 10 minutes out she said she would wait because she was still at the office. She also had just checked in another couple, so all that rudeness was unnecessary. To add onto all of that, even tho we made our reservation weeks in advance we got stuck with one of the few rooms that hadn’t been renovated yet even after she admitted we had over payed for the room we got but only offered us a free motel breakfast because she couldn’t refund us partially since we booked through a 3rd party. That whole experience put a bad taste in my mouth so we will not be staying there when we go back to Fredericksburg later this year or any year in the future. Great place to relax Chris was very helpful and nice...very clean and nice room nice bathroom too...stayed 2 nights, no issues at all and best price in all of fredriksburg...free coffee and ac kept it nice and cool...slept very comfortably...had a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker and flat sreen tv...nice pictures on the wall and nice bed...the room service lady was very sweet too...the bathroom even had a hair blow dryer and some shampoo, soap, hand lotion and fresh aloe wipes nicely packaged..the bathroom was big and had a big mirror too and nice clean white towels. The light bulb on the porch was going out and chris was very sweet and gave me a new one...it was also very close to the subway and an Exxon and pizza place and had other low price hotels next to it with a pool that we could swim in... Chris even gave me towel to dry off with it was about 5-10 minute walkup the road to heb too...booked 3 nights but only stayed 2 cause my ride came early...check out was at 11am...office was nice too and had a patio with nice chairs and a swing...definitely will be going back if i stay in fredriksburg again...service was great and people around there were nice...I give it 5 stars

Positive: Location and it was a quiet place. Negative: room needs updated. The carpet is loose.

Great customer service and location. I was in room 128, which was like a full furnished apartment (Kitchen / Living Room / Bedroom / Bathroom / Closet). This location is pretty close to HEB, which is nice. I have paid hundreds more at other hotels and didn’t get half of what this room offers. When I am in the area again, I will look this place up.

I stayed here two years ago and it was great! So I booked a room again for 3 nights this trip. I was so disappointed in the location of the room, it was tucked way in the back by a nasty back yard area, my window view was the brick wall to the supply storage building, the smell walking into the room was very bad, and that was only the beginning, the carpet was so dirty and sticky that you could not go without shoes, there was trash, bottle caps and crumbs under the bed, and the room for two queen beds was very tiny, no counter space at sink at all. The freezer in the mini frig was so packed with frost that it wouldn't hardly keep cold, let alone freeze an ice pack. The ice machine was out of order and the person at front desk could not get us supplies, so we had to wait for housekeeping the next day. The ceiling light flickered like a strob light and the tv messed up constantly. I will never stay here again . And wouldn't recommend at all! I wish I could post the pictures I took.
