Sunsets are amazing. The park has restrooms, picnic area, boat ramp, beach area, and playground. Only downfall is no pets allowed. Would have loved to relax on the beach with our dog. We visited several days in a row, and it was very peaceful and kid-friendly.
My absolute favorite place for sunsets! I appreciate the free parking, convenient bathrooms, shower stations, picnic shelter and boat ramp. Not the best place for swimming but other than that very family friendly.
Great for a sunset watch, but the beach itself is really closer to mud. The kids had a ball slipping and sliding, though. We didn't test the boat ramp. Parking is available but limited so drivers left cars in the street or parked in the trailer area.
Mixed feelings about this place. Nice park, clean restrooms, but the sunset activities are a circus. Only one road in and out. Signs clearly say no parking on the sidewalk, which is completely ignored. Cars parked on both sides of the road, plus in the parking lot, all trying to leave at once. Cars on the sidewalk are on the road trying to get on the exit road while everyone else is trying to drive out. Didn't see any kind of organization to help traffic flow. Only one police officer was there in the park, so I can't say if others show up to help with the traffic. Wouldn't go again. I've bto Mallory Dock in Key West, that's so much better because everyone walks there.
Awesome place. Never seen SO many dragonflies at one time in my life!! The final sunset that night looked like a rainbow prism 💜
We chose a very sunny but also very windy day. We didn't get in the water but sure filled some buckets full if water for when we played and built things with the sand. It was cool to be on actual island, yet a rather small one which made it a scary and also thrilling experience. I felt like the weather combined with the waves and scary ocean made it such a rush. Just a simple family day.
What a beautiful sunset! On the map this beach does look small. There was plenty of parking when I got here around 730PM. Sunset Beach does have bathrooms and parking is free
Definitely a piece of paradise. Tropical and absolutely relaxing place to visit. Easy to find with GPS. Be sure to bring some beach chairs and a camera. We arrived after 4pm and there was less that 20 people I could see. Nice and quiet. This is a must visit place for sure.
A good family-friendly beach. Like most of the Pinellas beaches you can use the ParkMobile app to pay for parking. Pets are allowed along the causeway but not on the island itself.
