Cheap, dirty and sketchy. However, you can sit outside and watch the sunrise at the Sunrise Motel while smoking some weed. I did a nice wake and bake and watched the sun come up over Absecon Bay. There are bugs here and HIGHLY questionable people (like myself) but the ability to smoke some bud is worth every penny.

I am writing this review by request from my 14 year old son. He, his stepmother, and a friend stayed in this motel twice this summer. They said it was only $40 a night, and he felt you got what you paid for. The first time they came was spur of the moment, and the second time they came after another motel did not provide what was promised. He said the couple that run the motel was very nice, and when they heard their story from the other motel, they took $10 off the total bill. He said the beds were comfortable, although the pillows left something to be desired. They had a flat screen TV, "Not one of those big TVs from the 80s," which didn't originally work but when they called the front desk, the owner came immediately and got it working. My son said the water in the shower was very hot with excellent pressure (I constantly complain about this and he must have picked up on it LOL). He did say it's not as nice as a lot of other hotels we stayed in, but he was able to sleep there with no problem. I will admit, though, that at 14, he's not as quick to pick up on things such as cleanliness and such. He liked the fact that they were only 15 minutes away from the beach in Atlantic City.

A friend of mine and myself stayed at the motel for what was going to be two nights on a road trip we took along the east coast. When getting to the motel we noticed the "no refunds after check in" sign, which should have immediately been our first clue. But we needed an inexpensive place to stay and chose to stay anyways. When we got into the room we immediately noticed a dusky, moldy smell in the room. The ceiling was lined with mold and water damage spots. The bathroom was filfthy with dirt/dust along the bathtub and window. It was midsummer with 90 degree days and the air conditioner was not turned on prior to our arrival. We turned it on and it did work but the smell and whatever was coming out of the AC was horrible and caused both my friend and I to begin coughing. We dropped the keys back off after only about an hr. of being in the room. I would not recommend this motel to ANYONE!!! STAY AWAY!! It is not worth the cheap prices. It is not someplace suitable for any human to stay in, not even for one night. Avoid it at all costs!

My husband booked this motel through booking.com and the pictures looked great but upon arrival, it looked more like a place to stay for an hour or so for a deed not worth mentioning. The room was musty and moldy. They had holes patched into the outside walls with foam bedding pieces. When we explained to the owners that we would not be staying there, she continued to yell at us saying, "You signed already; you will be charged." There is a sign that says "No refund once occupied." But there is no way to see the room until you've checked in. We had to call the police to help mitigate the problem and we were told that this motel and the Crescent Motel get a lot of calls from customers who complain about the owners. We were given a police report case in the event that we need to file a claim against them. Another couple had the same problem. I wish I could attach photos on my phone with the mobile site but the pictures they have showing how "nice" their motel looks is nothing like the actual motel. I've stayed at better motels around the world for $80 than this place! Compared to other motels this isn't even worth a penny to stay. You couldn't pay me a million dollars to stay for fear of bed bugs and getting sick due to the musty and moldy smell. Even the police officer wouldn't walk in.

This has to be the absolute worst motel I've ever stayed in. It was a last minute decision on Labor Day weekend because we decided we were too tired to drive home and all the other places were either booked or extremely expensive. The people that were running the place were very friendly but the conditions were not livable to say the least I would have rather slept outside we got there at around 9:00 at night and it was so bad we had to leave at 2:00 in the morning because we couldn't stand to be there anymore.

It was a spur of the moment Atlantic city trip (group of 4) and we were tired to drive back NYC so we wanted an affordable place to stay, so we googled motels near the casinos..The drive was a short distance only a few miles price was $50 for the night. It seemed good, It's one of those you get what you pay for places. Outside looks like one of those movie motels where those that want to hide out & get their hooker or murder someone..No fancy decor, old 50s green rusty looking bathroom. I didn't shower I didn't have time, I woke up at checkout time but I wouldn't have anyway my shower looked dirty and cramped. My friend did she said it was fine. The room had thin cheap blankets (I checked for stains, cigarette burns and bed bugs didn't see any so I was okay to sleep for the most part) TV hard to get working but was able to. The room had a fridge however so that was good...The main complaint all of us had was that it was FREEZING. I was shivering even under the blankets for some time. My boyfriend turned up the thermostat up, it was at it's highest and complained to front desk. They told him no one wants heat during this time and didn't do anything. All four of us were freezing due to the rainy weather. Their customer service not so good. My boyfriend's friend said he was so cold and disgusted he was considering sleeping in the car or driving back home and paying my boyfriend the $ he paid for the room. Eventually with some snuggling I fell asleep but I don't think any of us will return to Taffy Motel again. I know I won't. It was a shame I forgot to take pics but it's one of those places you just want to get out of once you're in.

Terrible service, everything outdated, and no weekly rates. And just a dump.. Clean up do something instead of these Indian owned places owners, just sit in there back room "Apartments" and do nothing 24/7 and then come to the desk and give you attitude. The Crest at least, she tries her best to make people feel welcome! Same gets things fixed and updated. She works with you, she's a very nice lady and I recommend the Crest to anyone looking for a nice place to stay while in the area... Quiet, no partying either...
