Such a great experience. Love that it is a family affair, actually four generations! This was my 2nd time and we will be returning many more times. Thanks Stan for such southern hospitality!

Had a birthday party with young kids and they did great! Taught the kids how to take care of the horses and then spent a substantial amount of time riding and learning how to start, steer and trot.

It was my daughters first time riding. She was so nervous but quickly bonded with the horses. She loved it. The staff was friendly and put her nerves at ease.

Excellent facility and staff. Great value. Our granddaughter comes from Massachusetts in the summer to go to Sunnyside, the value is that good.

Doesn't seem very adult-friendly when the max weight limit is 200 lbs? Regular sized horses can carry way more than that and are capable of carrying a full grown man with a healthy weight. People shouldn't have to weigh the same as a child or a petite woman to enjoy horse riding. Guess I'll look elsewhere so that my family can enjoy riding with me. Bear in mind that none of my family members are obese. Also I get that they don't want any issues but asking about my insurance carrier and policy number isn't any of their business. Everyone is legally required to have insurance, so everyone has insurance. Even if I had insurance I could still sue if an accident occurred, unless I signed a waver. You should just have people sign a waver and call it done. Then you can't get sued. I was applying for a nice trail ride, not for a job opening.

I rode at Sunnyside for around four to five years. I did a working lease, and lots of lessons! I was also a counselor for the summer and spring camps and sometimes l would come early to clean stalls. Sunnyside stables has two beautiful arenas (indoor and outdoor) and lovely trails. However, I’m pretty sure that if you are having a birthday party or something they will generally not go on a very long trail ride as most of the people at the birthday party are usually beginner riders and shouldn’t go on the harder trails. Some people are saying Ashley is rude, well she’s blunt but not really rude. That’s what I’ve learned from being around her. But once you get to know her she’s really nice and loves her work. She just doesn’t like it if you don’t listen, do something wrong or stupid, or annoy her. Everyone has faults, it’s not just Ashley. No ones perfect. I have seen favoritism going on between all the girls and owners but if you try to get to know people and work hard you will gain respect and friends. They don’t just come to you. Overall it’s a well kept and large facility with beautiful people, horses, and adorable animals!

I am an avid horse person (I show dressage and versatile ranch horses) and think VERY HIGHLY of the two experience we had at Sunnyside Stables. 1 - my "book club"asked if they could go for a trail ride, but not having enough horses for 8 people, we went to Sunnyside Stables and had a GREAT time!!! Everyone was taught how to brush and tack their horses, were given a riding lesson in the arena, then went on an hour long trail ride. The experience was 90 minutes total, well worth the cost. The horses are well cared for and the scenery is gorgeous and they are quite close to the Twin Cities! 2 - Our son asked/begged to have his 10th birthday party at Sunnyside and we could not have been more PLEASED with it!!! The person we coordinated it with is Ashley, a woman who did an amazing job in ensuring the day was perfect for our son and six friends. We even heard feedback from the parents of the children who attended about how what a great experience it was and how much FUN they had. Footnote - Since the weather was so nice we arranged to bring out lunch and the birthday cake so we could keep the celebration going. I don't think it's something they typically allow, but it sure made it that much more of an experience! (If you are wondering, we did tip them for allowing us to use their picnic area).

We have taken lessons here so decided to do my 9 year olds birthday party with 4 of her excited friends. I expected the girls to saddle up, hop on a horse and head out on the trail. I was surprised and impressed Ashley and her helpers took the time to talk about horse safety before teaching the girls to groom the horse, haul the gear and saddle then each girl had an assistant to help show how to saddle the horses. Since we had 3 that had never rode before it was a little intimidating but knowing there was one assistant per girl even on the trail ride, the girls were more calm and had fun. Then ‘driving lessons’ in the barn before heading out. Such a great experience!!!
