The Sunken City in Los Angeles is a hidden gem that unveils a captivating blend of urban decay and nature's resilience. Walking through the remnants of the old neighborhood, now perched on the edge of the cliffs, offers a unique and hauntingly beautiful experience. The artistry of graffiti against the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean is mesmerizing. While access is restricted due to safety concerns, the Sunken City remains an offbeat destination that showcases the city's history and the unstoppable force of nature. A must-visit for those seeking an unconventional adventure in LA.
Great tourist attraction! It was free to enter and explore. The weather was great and ocean view is beautiful. The history is very interesting: Landslide caused former portion of neighborhood to collapse into the ocean. Pieces of the road can be seen with graffiti on it. There is some wild life like squirrels and cats, and you can sometimes see dolphin fins peaking through the ocean surface.
WARNING: This is a high place with steep slopes. While it is very manageable to navigate for the average tourist, be careful not to mistep or fall.
I enjoyed the view. There’s a big fence and I didn’t feel like dealing with it. There’s a few spots you could go through it or walk all the way towards the lighthouse and come around.❤️🤩
Today we visited the Sunken City, a site of a natural landslide that occurred in 1929 in San Pedro, Los Angeles. It was amazing to see the remains of the houses, streets, and rail tracks that slid into the ocean. The place has a mysterious and eerie vibe, but also a beautiful view of the Pacific. It was like stepping into a lost world that was frozen in time. We had a great time exploring the ruins and taking pictures.
We were so excited to see this place. And there's no way to get to it. You have to climb fences. Surprised they don't make it more of a park.
Absolutely beautiful, just make sure to hold on to the rail... There were several signs about falling off, as well as a suicide prevention sign. Other than the obvious risk of standing at the edge of a cliff with a decently strong ocean breeze, it's such a pretty place to visit. Absolutely stunning. Didn't get to see the graffiti street art, as the area was fenced off to the public. :(
Great park for picnics, views, and peace. Hike down to the shoreline, take a look at the home museum, and enjoy some yummy treats from the friendly street fruit and snack vendors. Great view of Catalina Island on a clear day.
Super cool spot. It's not huge but definitely can take some time walking around looking at the "art". Beautiful ocean view. I probably wouldn't go after dark. Very rough for skateboard. Not the spot for riding. Maybe a few kick flips is all.
Hello everyone. Check out the S.S Lane Victory for this is another historic ship filled with so much history since its construction. This legacy ship, contains many historic news papers, model ships, uniforms, torpedoes, helmets, flags...ect. When on
Great place to make out very peaceful pretty views on a clear day you can see all the way to Catalina island and Long Beach people and nice and kind I go out there to study sometimes.
Point Fermin Park is a beautiful spot in San Pedro to get nice vistas, enjoy the breeze, feel like youâre away from the city. The natural beauty is amazing, the park is ontop of cliffs so the view bellow is breathtaking. Iâve been coming here for
The service here was absolutely incredible and the food was even better. We loved eating here! The burrata appetizer was my favorite and the salmon piccata was phenomenal. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough.
There are so many pizza places around. But Sorrento's stand out as one with no frills, clean, courteous staff and most of all good ol' pizza taste. I never care for marinara sauce. But the marinara that comes with the calamari tastes the best of eq
Itâs a fun place to spend a day walking around, fishing, or at the beach. Great for families. In my experience during my visit in early April, the beach was clean and the water was crystal clear. Parking is paid using a debit/credit card at the ent
Animal style burger is the best. The sauce and onions put it over the top especially at that price point. Fries would be better animal style instead of plain.
Yum!! Stayed at the Crown Plaza just a couple of blocks away for a work event in the area. Walked over to San Pedro Cafe for breakfast this morning and wow! Service is prompt and excellent. Food is phenomenal and huge portions. Absolutely the best me
