Based on the excellent reviews, we stayed at the cottage at Sundara West two weekends in a row and we are so glad we did! We loved everything about the property and the hosts. Jackie was always available via text and contacted us before and during our stay to answer any of our questions. The property is well cared for, has beautiful flowers, and great views of Mount Baker. The pool is incredible and there is even a full size playset! The entire cottage was extremely clean, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook during our stay, and it was very convenient to have the washer and dryer in the cottage. Our son loved the nearby farm animals that we could watch from our porch. I wish we lived closer so we could visit Sundara West more often!
We cannot express how blessed my wife and I were with our stay at your beautiful home and property! What a great place you have created for your family and guests.|The delicious breakfasts were over the top gourmet and generous portions! The indoor pool and sitting area were just what the doctor ordered for a romantic getaway. The Sunflower Room and library/kitchen area were very accommodating, comfortable, and inviting.|Thank you SO very much for opening your home and hearts to us; and sharing it with us. We just returned home from our trip to Washington. We stayed in the Glamping Tent for 5 nights and it was a truly wonderful experience. Jackie, the host, was always available by text if we had any questions or needed anything at all and she responded almost instantly. She also waited up for us to arrive on our first night, even though it was 3am! Just so she could show us around the grounds and how to get into the tent, where the bathroom was, etc. and even though breakfast is typically not included for guests in the tent, she provided us with farm fresh eggs, bacon and croissants so we were able to make our own breakfast sandwiches using the provided outdoor grill. We did day hikes in the Mt. Baker National Forest a couple days (about an hour and 20 min drive) and one hike in North Cascades National Park, a little farther away. Then explored the town of Bellingham which is only 20 minutes away. You can see Mount Baker from the property, which is beautifully maintained with all kinds of plants, trees and flowers. It’s out in the country and very peaceful, lots of birds chirping, bunnies hopping around. I highly recommend checking it out!
We had the most incredible time staying at Sundara West. We were in the cottage, which was ample space for our family of 4--next time we might bring friends! The cottage was cozy but spacious, the personal jacuzzi and fire pit were lovely, and the neighbor goats on the adjoining property were a highlight for the kids. The true highlight of the trip was the heated indoor pool--incredible for all of us as a winter getaway with two small kids! It's beautiful, it's luxurious, and there's a waterslide! And there's a spot to hang out while the kids swim with a gas fireplace that is the coziest. It felt like our own tropical paradise. Jackie is so sweet, made sure we had everything we needed, and the bottle of wine and s'more packets to greet us ensured there was a treat for everyone. We can't wait to return!
I’m torn writing this because it’s the most magical place ever but I also want to keep it for myself! No matter which of the three options you choose for your stay (B&B, cottage or glamping tent), you will not be disappointed! The best part of all the amazing features for your stay is the phenomenal hosts!
What a beautiful and cozy spot! The decor was so impeccable and charming, every detail was sweet and thought through. The grounds are beautiful and I could have stayed all day on that porch swing. It’s a great location away from the busy life but close to some great restaurants. Comfy bed, cute cozy library and tea room and the most accommodating hosts! Breakfast was amazing and they were able to meet my allergy needs. A perfect stay for a perfect occasion. Hope to be back!
Our anniversary stay here was fantastic! If you are looking for a location at which to relax and be at peace while soaking in God's wonders this is the place. We stayed in "The Cottage" and enjoyed the privacy of a porch overlooking a large open field and a view of Mount Baker. Add to that a private hot tub and fire pit and what more could you expect?||I guess it would be the well stocked kitchen, spacious grounds and wonderful aroma emanating from the numerous rose bushes that line the lawn area - oh, and the indoor pool, an adjacent large hot tub, and fire pit at which you can mingle with newly acquired friends. ||Leaving the best for last: The host and hostess are amazing! They accommodated our every need, made us feel at home, and even provided us with S'mores for the fire pit one evening. Yumm! ||Thanks so much, Marshall and Jackie. We will be back. ;)
Jackie was a gracious host and very accomodating. We had view of Mt. Baker from room. She makes killer breakfasts. Such a clean, quiet home with beautiful grounds. Would stay here again. Toiletry products were high quality. Hot tub had the best jets. ||
Very cute and small local diner, this place is fantastic. Not huge portions, which are nice, bit quality food cooked with love. About a 20 minute drive from Bellingham but worth the journey.
